I agree, but a thread like this is headed in a bad direction.

and just what was YOUR #16 album of the yearWink?

ah well, yeah that sucked (cept for the liberal amounts of diet coke it provided)

but if angels & airwaves new album counts in any way shape or form...

Systematic Chaos is far from the worst album of the year. It wasn't perfect, but it had some amazing tracks, and no tracks were entirely poor.

Scarsick by a mile.

Well, as is always the case, it isn't so much the item of lowest quality as it is the biggest disappointment. It's easy to avoid a pile of s**t you smell from a mile away, but it really sucks when it's downwind and you step right in it. Because of this, I'll have to pick Scarsick. This same theory applies to films I watch. Spider-Man 3 is my pick for box office stinker of the year.

I have no idea about worst, so I can merely say from my fairly limited listening...

I haven't heard enough full albums not to my taste this year to say, but Snakes and Arrows is one that I didn't care for.  I know there are others, but the names escape me.

^btw, definitely not saying that I believe that to be the worst album of the year, just my least favourite from the ones I recall hearing.

^ ditto... hear so many... only a couple stand out ....

the Rush album did nothing for me... but they stopped being 'prog' long ago... so they get a free pass in this thread.  The one that really stands out is.... as usual it seems... one that people seem to love.  Nice album.. but as a prog album... I have to wonder if I am saying this.. but I am.  Found Systematic Chaos more interesting from a prog fan standpoint than Fear of a Blank Planet.  That album did NOTHING for me.  Wilson could throw sh*t on the wall in this forum.. and have it hailed as the prog album of the year. LOL

but thankfully it seems... I missed Scarsick hahhah

I liked Scarsick.

As far as worst, there's a ton of crap on FM alternative radio being labeled as prog that i don't like.Disapprove

Systematic Chaos was my number 4 prog album of the year LOL its several steps up from Octavarium in many places (and one or two back in a few songs but those wind up humorous anyway, so I win either way)

I dare say... it is the first DT album.. that has improved in my opinion upon subsequent listens.. they all have caused blood to flow from the ears on the first listen...  but for some reason.. that one is an improvement over others... and I haven't put my finger quite on why.  It isn't the singing.. Labrie is just a godawful singer.. the lyrics are just  plain stupid...  but yes.. I was able to hear Myung.. and the music itself.. simply wasn't as bad or cringeworthy as other albums were to me.  Or maybe Raff's presence in my life has made me into a big old teddy bear and DT has hit a soft spot in my heart... who knows.

I agree with this, I tend to not like negative threads.

hahhahah...  and I do mean to live before all the sin I am responsible for catches up to me and takes me away in a clap of thunder and lightning hahahha.

I'll check it out... like many...  I tend to stay away from sh*t I know I won't like (DT being the exception.. just because it is so much fun to hate them hahhah)

Toss up between Scarsick and Systematic Chaos. Both of these albums weren't too bad in my opinion, seems liked all the albums I have listened to thus far this year were good. I'm sure in a few months I'll catch a few of the sh*tty ones.

Scarsick had some beauty in it, in my opinion. Systematic Chaos was a step in the right direction for DT, but they have become behind the rest.

Scarsick, though not all that good (a 6/10 in my book) is by far more refreshing, and invigorating that Systematic Chaos. At least Pain of Salvation took a chance...Stern%20Smile

Personally, I avoid listening album that I would regret buying. That´s why I haven't listened Systematic Chaos nor Scarsick
