Many years ago I received a Congreso CD compilation while working for a Dutch progrock magazine. I cannot remember the music as very interesting but I will try to dig that review, perhaps I have confused Congreso with another Latin-Amercian legend, I hope so Wink

I'm afraid you were right. Congreso is not a great band in prog terms (specially if you listened a compilation!), but they have good prog moments. But my opinion is polemic, since I don't consider Pentangle, Ilusion, Trees "progressive" bands too.

If that was the Congreso 71 - 82 album, I think it is not very owrthy of mention. Congreso's finest albums (according to me) are the following:

Viaje por la Cresta del mundo
Ha llegado Carta
Pajaros de arcilla
Para los arqueólogos del futuro
Los fuegos del hielo

¡Beware of the Bee!

There's a mistake with a Congreso album, or is it me?

The last live album is called "Congreso de Exportación", and that's the one I want to buy soon. In the bio it's listed with this name too.

Hi Erik.

Anyone knows "El Wara" from Bolivia?
I don't remember if this band was quoted here yet.
Anyway, it's a wonderful band... psichedelic, folk and symphonic elements.
In the cover of their first album (1973) is writted: "Musica Progresiva".
Does anyone doubt if it is prog??
Here is the official site: http://www.wara.tk

The band is called "Wara" and their album is called "El Inca" and "Música Progresiva" is like a description, it's not part of the title I think, anyways the album is pretty good, but the audio is really bad, the original tapes are bad, so there's no other chance, pity. Cry
