Still the numbers 1, 2, 5 + 9 to go. Just take another look at the clues (clue #1 is meant to be cryptic).
1. ? - ? (the band isn't Gong) Clue: Do you really need Help when guessing the Colour of this Band?
2. ? - ? (the band isn't Iron Maiden or Pain of salvation) Clue: This Swedish prog metal band (not so popular as #9) is covering a song of a very popular prog related band
3. The Gathering - Life Is What You Make It [cover]
4. Voivod - 21 Century Schizoid Man [cover]
5. ? - No Quarter [cover] (the band isn't Tool or the Page/Plant project) Clue: LaBrie and Graves - among others - did a fine job on this cover. This prog act is also present in the "Top Artists" list shown in Snow Dog's signature
6. Majesty / Dream Theater - Yyz [cover]
7. Iron Maiden - Cross-eyed Mary [cover]
8. Magellan - Don't Kill The Whale [cover]
9. ? - ? (the band isn't Iron Maiden) Clue: Very popular prog metal band covering a very popular prog related band
10. Shadow Gallery - Floydian Memories

Going from your clue of number 1........I've been thinking this for a while........its a longshot, but the only thing I can think of is "Help" by Deep Purple.

Well, you're quiet right.
I realize it was hardly recognizable, but this is how DP put it on record!

No Quarter is by Ayreon, from the single Day Eleven.
Which leaves....
2. ? - ? (the band isn't Iron Maiden or Pain of salvation) Clue: This Swedish prog metal band (not so popular as #9) is covering a song of a very popular prog related band
9. ? - ? (the band isn't Iron Maiden) Clue: Very popular prog metal band covering a very popular prog related band

To summarize:
2 Swedish prog metal bands. Both started their musical career as a death metal band, both covering the same very popular prog related band here. They're both quiet popular at PA. The band from #9 even has (I think) 2 albums in the overall PA top 100 list.

So, just one snippet to go!
Come on gentlepeople, what band and song is #2?
If you know what song it is, you should be able to find the performing band by a search instruction on the PA bandpages.
I just like to find out what "Gone In 60 Seconds" compilations both Snow Dog and Rubidium do have in store for us, after completion of this compilation.

Sorry, I was to late with editing my last post.
So Rubidium managed to find the last snippet without my latest clue.
So, who's next? I know that both Snow Dog and Rubidium have another "Gone In 60 Seconds" compilation ready.

Yep, here is my first, but by mistake there are 11 rather than 10 snippets.
No 5 SD 1

IQ is correct. Good Times!
Dun is incorrect Bad Times!
I think you mean 10 for Dun, as there are 11 in total by mistake.
