Bureaucracy is a national policy

You must be drunk to be Ukrainian. I'm not use alcohol, so I'm kinda stranger

Everybody are possessed with media and gave up their own ways of thinking

The youth is doomed on dying from cheap drugs and sex dicesases

It's pretty much the same here, maybe a bit less extreme...

Positive things? There are still plenty of really great people here, young and old

When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

Bad health
Alcoholism
Drugs
Obesity
Crap teeth
A hatred of our neighbour, but a love and freindliness tof all other nations
The most friendly nation on health, when we're not in hospital, drunk, stoned, at the dentist or eating.
Always laughing at ourselves
And finally probably the best engineers in the world (maybe not today, but we were once)

Where am i?

I live in this same country,
where some will whine that others are given preferential treatment due to an attribute than can identify them as a "minority"
Where most will agree that these same whiners simply are looking for excuses to explain why some have more success than they do.
I live in a country where we acknowledge our shortcomings re : prejudices,
yet accept that some will disagree with identifying such shortcomings.
I live in a country where we believe we are superior to our southern neighbour,
yet, envy much of what that country has achieved & stands for.
I live in a country whose cultural history is a mix of two ancient Europeen powers,
with a recognition of  our aboriginal community that does not always live up to our ideals.
I live in a country that welcomes immigrants, and always has. We encounter problems, we fret over whether our standards are high enough, yet the majority seem to prefer to weigh in on the softer side. We see what newcomers bring to us, what they can add to the mix to keep our country the best place to live in this world.
I live in a country that most inhabitants truly believe is the best country in the world, yet do not indulge in a mindless jingoistic nationalism that precludes an appreciation that others love their countries just as much as we may love ours.
I live in a country that has seen major changes, sometimes grudginly accepted, but usually with time, old battles are left to the past.
I live in a country that accepts that regions will have their own perceptions, problems, & proposed solutions to these without having to resort to civil war or violence. Heated interminable debate is preferred to brute prower & authorarianism.
And finally I believe the preceding post that is quoted ill represents my country & its' people.
But I believe that in my country we support his right to state his opinion, without the possibility or threat of state, media or mob censorship. For to censor reprehensible ideas is to endow them the status of martyr, when exposure to the public eye allows them to be found to be what they are - wrong.

I think I won't be overly pessimistic.  When I think of American culture, I think of jazz, the greatest cultural achievement of all time for me.

Hmm...when I think of Australian culture, I think of alcoholism, racism, bravado, tall poppy syndrome, homophobia...lots of great stuff!

Oh, and American ass-kissing.

(It's actually a love-hate relationship) Confused

Very very humoristic and cynical.
Friendly and naive.
Gently and barbarian.
Subjective and emotional, emotions are much more used than reason.
Easily gets upset .
Loves to dance and sing.
Always think something else or someone else will solve all the problems.
Serbs don't love themselves and people can easily be 'bought' with money.
Never been united ,difficult to agree on one same point.
Self-destructive and melancholic(thats the same for all Slavic peoples i think).
The majority always believe more to the idiots than to wise people.
A lot of oposed extremes in a way of thinking and living, moderation is a rare thing.
Honest.

When I think of American culture, I understand why the old world feels the need to denigrate it as catering to the lowest common denominator. Their own high culture is as full of self indulgent crap & art truly worthy of that name as anything America has put out.
DIsney & Jazz.

As an addendum. My country has given new meaning to turkeys voting for christmas. The nationalists have won, one more seat than labour, look out out for higher taxes, and a form of childishness that will be unsurpassed anywhere in the whole world.

ps what other democratic country can have over 150,000 spoilt ballot papers?

I would say it would have to be: "I R bettur thun U is"
I am but a servant of the mighty Fripp, the sound of whose loins shall forever be upon the tongues of his followers.
