Well, just point out some characteristics that pretty much everybody in your country has.
I'll start ,by saying that we get excited VERY easily.Which is actually bad since we are usually disappointed really easily too!(and that's true for about everybody in Greece)

Friendly people. Lots of wine, weird feeling of derrotism, low interest in politics or civil participation. Horrible habits of throwing garbage everywhere, low culture, low appreciation of culture, just one band to really care about in the whole country. Too much into one sport (soccer). Warm at heart, somehow.

We are strict conservatists.
And we are afraid of the Soviet Russia, even though it no longer exists.
And we love the USA on a political level, not locally though, we all hate it.
we don't talk to people unless necessary. And if we might happen to, we feel uncomfortable.

We are easily swayed by media/political propaganda We are speculative of the government except in the aftermath of a crisis We love to watch TV We don't learn lessons from the past We appreciate good (and bad) food Once a fad gets started, it takes us FOREVER to lose it

I think that's spot on except for the last one. Our attention spans are way to short. We just need to be distracted by another shiny fad and we'll flock.
Basically, to describe modern American culture, think the Roman Empire right before it fell.

Well I don't constantly go out of my way to point out weaknesses like the way you make your 1984 references. And the intelligence has nothing to do with this. You're going out of your way to be a Jimmy clone and don't you deny it!

It's hard to point out common Belgian characteristics since the country is divided between Flemish and Francophones (55-45) and they are very different (even if some are trying to deny that in order to keep the country together)
But:
- we love our beers and good foods
- We practice self-derision to the sublime. Surrealim is more than just a second nature, it is an art of living
- While not agreeing with recent US world policies, the vast majority still loves US and generally what works (arts or trends) there, usually ends up worling here.
- we all think that the grass is greener elsewhere, but looking at the rain falling on our country, we should know better. Those wanting to investigate other pastures usually end up coming back.

We are possibly the most culturally diverse country in the world but it is very difficult to define a particular cultural perspective that can be attached us (probably for that very reason)
Sports mad
Powerful consumers of anything American
but gaining an appreciation for the sleeping giant to the north
Voting is compulsory but we do not necessarily use our minds in the process (Yes a world wide phenomena)
We consume a great deal of alcohol (It used to be beer but now Australian wine has become world class so we drink heaps of great Pinot, Chardonnay etc) and consume a vast array of culinary delights
We were considered easy going but now work, on average, some of the longest hours in the western world.
We love 'taking the mickey'
We have more space per head of population than anywhere else in the world (Thats liveable) so we love our quarter acre blocks and shed out the back
Generally self reliant
Over 30% of the population now choose to live on their own
Over 90% of us live on or near the ocean (many surfers)
Either losing or have lost alot of traditional values regarding neighbourliness and have been strongly influenced by political rhetoric regarding 'the enemy' to our civilisation.
In the process, have become more insular and individualistic
Generally quite materialistic although can be unusally generous
Over 30% of teenagers have Chlamydia

speaking of quebec:
our women abuse too much of their rights.
the average Joe lives a deep identity crisis: he wonders what is his role in the society as a father
people with permanent bad breath are forever singles
more than anywhere, the woman chooses her partner
our province is feminized.
every home interior is designed by women (violet walls, flowers as ornaments, tons of mirrors, brass/china handles)
many women try with other women just for having fun
the goal of young women here is to have fun, nothng else.
i think the worst nightmare here for a young woman is to spend the night alone.

Everything is prodused in an oversea factory
nothing is sacred
Art is scoffed at
evrything that isnt from a corperation is not cool
love is taboo
people belive things but cant explain the reson
no one cares about anyone else
evryone wants $, and thats all they want
people will do anything they are told to
no one thinks for themselves
we go to church evry sunday, but wear pentigrams during the week
we complain about crime but steal when we want too
we worry about obesity but eat huge meals
we are disturbed by global warming, from the convenience of our cars
we expect corperations to want to help people
we cant make up our minds
we only have two choices of belief systems (republican christion or athiest democrat)
we act like we want to be better people but never try
we dont believe in anything at all

I live in this same country, where some will whine that others are given preferential treatment due to an attribute than can identify them as a "minority" Where most will agree that these same whiners simply are looking for excuses to explain why some have more success than they do. I live in a country where we acknowledge our shortcomings re : prejudices, yet accept that some will disagree with identifying such shortcomings. I live in a country where we believe we are superior to our southern neighbour, yet, envy much of what that country has achieved & stands for. I live in a country whose cultural history is a mix of two ancient Europeen powers, with a recognition of our aboriginal community that does not always live up to our ideals. I live in a country that welcomes immigrants, and always has. We encounter problems, we fret over whether our standards are high enough, yet the majority seem to prefer to weigh in on the softer side. We see what newcomers bring to us, what they can add to the mix to keep our country the best place to live in this world. I live in a country that most inhabitants truly believe is the best country in the world, yet do not indulge in a mindless jingoistic nationalism that precludes an appreciation that others love their countries just as much as we may love ours. I live in a country that has seen major changes, sometimes grudginly accepted, but usually with time, old battles are left to the past. I live in a country that accepts that regions will have their own perceptions, problems, & proposed solutions to these without having to resort to civil war or violence. Heated interminable debate is preferred to brute prower & authorarianism. And finally I believe the preceding post that is quoted ill represents my country & its' people. But I believe that in my country we support his right to state his opinion, without the possibility or threat of state, media or mob censorship. For to censor reprehensible ideas is to endow them the status of martyr, when exposure to the public eye allows them to be found to be what they are - wrong.

Very very humoristic and cynical.
Friendly and naive.
Gently and barbarian.
Subjective and emotional, emotions are much more used than reason.
Easily gets upset .
Loves to dance and sing.
Always think something else or someone else will solve all the problems.
Serbs don't love themselves and people can easily be 'bought' with money.
Never been united ,difficult to agree on one same point.
Self-destructive and melancholic(thats the same for all Slavic peoples i think).
The majority always believe more to the idiots than to wise people.
A lot of oposed extremes in a way of thinking and living, moderation is a rare thing.
Honest.

When I think of American culture, I understand why the old world feels the need to denigrate it as catering to the lowest common denominator. Their own high culture is as full of self indulgent crap & art truly worthy of that name as anything America has put out. DIsney & Jazz.
