Argent's "Circus" is not available on CD, which is probably their best album.

Hi folks. I'm looking for "AIR CUT' by 'CURVED AIR' at the moment and various older sites say its not released on CD.I've seen reference to a Japanese release but ,if available, it costs an arm and a leg. Does anyone have any ideas?

Looking still the same after all these years...

several notes/comments: Renaud had a second album, "Out of Time", also unavailable on CD. I have Battiato's "Clic" on vinyl (British) & CD, and will check to see if track listing is the same. I have Curved Air's "Air Cut" on CD, but it's obvious that some of the songs were lifted from vinyl or a really crappy tape (distortion), while others sound great. (Japanese cardboard mini-LP-style sleeve). I've been told no better CD version exists.

Not quite prog, but I've been aftera CD version Moving Home by Rod Argent for years. I got the chance to ask Rod about it a couple years back, when he and Colin Blunstone played a Zombies gig at Glasgow's Renfrew Ferry. He said that it was an album that he really enjoyed but that there were contractual problems with the label (MCA) that have prevented its re-release on CD. One of these days......

Followup on Battiato's "Clic" The British Island label LP has 3 tracks on side one; all are on the CD, but in a different order. There is one long track on side two which takes material from the earlier album "Sulle Corde di Aries"; I can't tell if everything on this side is found on the two CD's mentioned, but I'm pretty sure it is, and I'm certain that the shared tracks were not re-recorded (as in PFM's and Banco's English releases; songs like "Celebration", "World Became the World" and "Outside" were completely re-done, not just the vocals). So, it appears that there is no material on the "Clic" LP that doesn't appear on some CD.

We hope someone will have a turntable when we meet on March 18th; we will bring "Xitintoday" with us (and some other rare jewels from our collection). |

Hey, guess what KRAFTWERK 1 (1970), KRAFTWERK 2 (1971), RALF AND FLORIAN (1973) are avalable on CD but only as a bootleg (shhhhhhhh!!) so is TONE FLOAT (ORGANISATION, 1969)!! I have the early Kraftwerk albums via bootleg CD (CROWN RECORDS), but the text is odd on some sentences making look unprofessional, which is a shame, but the music seems unharmed!! |

A great album I agree; I relistened to it before I reviewed it a few months back and it was superb stuff. The good news is that this album is coming out on Repertoire in a digipak next month, remastered too I believe, doubtless to Repertoire's usual high standards. |

Alan Parsons Project's TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION? (the one without the narrations) I have it but is a ripped one. Is there an official version? |

Here goes...
Colosseum II- Electric Savage, War Dance; two excellent jazz rock albums, both unavailable, in the UK at least. Ironic that their weaker debut has been given a deluxe 2cd treatment. Tommy Bolin- Teaser; another one I've never seen on CD. His next album 'Private Eyes' I have on CD, but this I have only on a slightly worn vinyl. It's a hugely diverse album and deserves reissue now. Soft Machine- Bundles/Softs; these were on CD a long time back but have gone out of print. What I've heard I like a lot- shouldn't have been called Soft Machine as it's not really.Deserves reissue in any case. Argent- All Together Now; their biggest album and the only one of their early albums OOP. Explain that!! David Byron- Take No Prisoners; Heep singer's solo album. A more cohesive album than Heep's albums of the same era. Tony Williams Lifetime- Emergency, Turn It Over; never seen these about. I think they are out as imports, but why not UK versions? Dave Greenslade- Cactus Choir; need to dig out the vinyl again as this isn't on CD either. Hawkwind- Chronicle Of The Black Sword; haven't seen this either. In fact, most of their output post Hall Of Mountain Grill is OOP apart from bootlegs. |

Protos - One Day a New Horizon has been recently reissued on cd.
Verto's albums should defnitely get a reissue as well.

Unbelievable. I was searching around for one of my rarities when i came across this discussion. I joined this board just to set the record straight. Oliverstoned took my list and made it his own. So here I am.
Anyway - here's the list. It's constantly updated... so there have been many changes since he cut and paste mine:
www.thomashayes.com/reissues is the main page
http://thomashayes.com/reissues/never/ is the list of missing albums not on CD.
Now remember, VERY IMPORTANT, these are albums that don't exist on LEGIT CD. Many of them have been booted - which doesn't count.
Now to your post Erik, you mentioned Fireballet's debut is on CD? What label? Are you sure it's not a boot?
The Atila "Reviure" album still remains unissued. Just the 1999 concert, which is inferior IMO.
What label is the Ezra Winston - Myth on?
Satin Whale - Desert Places only exists as a boot on Germanofon.

Only as a bootleg. All of the Kraftwerk's and sole Organisation albums are boots on CD. Though as far as I know, the Tripkick LP reissue of "Tone Float" is legit.

Righ, different band. It's a Belgium funk fusion group from the early 70's headed by Marc Moulin. Highly collectable. There does exist a legit compilation CD that you can get from Dusty Grooves.
