One of my early artists, I still have a passion deep inside for his work and his voice. Of splendid composing skills, of a musical ear that shouldn't be diminished by failures, of a clear tone within music, whatever the case may be.
The early period isn't satisfying, barely promising. The real things starts directly by the masterpieces of
Heaven and Hell, Albedo, Spiral.
Small cliches continue, other break in and set the pace.
The tranquill '80s just have their rhythm precisely developed (though the contrary happens).
The experimental Vangelis, by the two albums of 1979 and 1985, are shamefully neglected or even considered brutal maneuver. geez...
The
Chariots Of Fire award isn't fair. Not the best soundtrack. Nothing truly special.
The late 80s get much better.
Mask has fascinating moments,
Direct is one of my favourite albums by him.
The City flops.
New age never gets past tense. Argumented or not, doesn't matter.
Masterpiece within
1492. What a bliss!
The 90s are rusted, but for me work fine.
Voices is a parallel towards good music considered too easy.
Oceanic is often the easy music considered good.
The contemporary years are also something slightly left over, though fantastic. The compositional avengure is at height, the valences of touching classical within the "digital" are well-done.
El Greco, masterpiece.
Mythodea, not bad at all.
wow, how long I got into talk. how short I said it all.
I like him very much. A recommended artist in its overall. A recommended musical collection, in its best features.
