Another vote for Steve. Then again, I'm a sucker for anything with a psychedelic flavor. Approve

Remedy Lane, one sided? Please. True, it deals with the torment of one person, and BE is very complicated. Be does have a good concept, but Gildenlow seems to have forgotten about making good music in the process. It's practically 75% concept, 25% music.

The music that is available on that album owns anything on Remedy Lane. Remedy Lane does have its moments, its just overrated and very dull compared to other PoS releases. Only Entropia is weaker IMO.

I agree with Bluesaga, The BE DVD does own the BE studio album. Gildenlow's presence is just too heavy in the dvd to forget about it

I disagree with the sentiments about BE. The concept is the most developed of any of POS but that hardly means the music was neglected. In face it's much more dynamic than on any previous POS album, and of a higher quality than all of them except Rememdy Lane. Which is hardly dull, and what it lacks in its "one sided" concept, it more than makes up through the rainbow of emotions expressed.

The emotions is what I like about Remedy Lane, but it doesn't make up for the lack of somethign I can't describe that I like about PoS.

I still like it a lot though Embarrassed

God. Me too. Unfortunately not a popular opinion when you live in California and are under the age of 30.

Isn't it interesting that Wilson has gradually caught up with Åkerfeldt in this poll since Steven himself showed up in this thread yesterday? I'm not insinuating anything...

I really enjoyed the discussion between AtLossForWords and Mr.Wilson <3 I have already stated that I 'm a huge Signify - Lightbulb Sun fan but, my vote goes to Mr. Mikael Åkerfeldt for his ability to change from brutal - death vocals to normal ones in a beautiful way. Both his two ways of singing are unique and his melodic tone breath melancholy painting the songs with very dark colours. His performance in Blackwater Park is just indescribably great.

PT is playing in Tokyo Hiromi Memorial Hall on 29th November - that's not official yet, so there's a bit of a headsup for you - see ya there!

I'm a big Magma fan - their 1975 live album is one of the greatest live albums ever in my opinion - Offering, Udu Wudu, Kohntark, Wurduh Itah, MDK, all very fine records.

Is Adrian playing drums? Guitar?  The guy is so talented he could probably do both at the same time.

I'm going to the October 6th show, woo!

BTW does anyone know where I can get Lightbulb Sun? The only place I've found it available so far was amazon.com and it was like 40 bucks

Caught and passed...it was 28-16 for Mike about the time Steve started posting!  Tough choice but I had to vote for Mike though based on his vocal ability, the contrast between his death growls and excellent clean vocals is hard to top.  Saw PT at The Mod Club in Toronto last year, excellent show.

Im gonna agree with the fact that Steve showed up and now hes winning.

Maybe Mr. AKerfeldt will show up? lol.

Im happy to have Steve! To those who do not like him, lets be nice, its not often we have an artist giving his time and "hanging" out with us more or nice. You don't have to like him, but attempt to show him some respect, whether you agree with his opinons or not.
back from the dead, i will begin posting reviews again and musing through the forums

Mr. Wilson,

Now that you and Porcupine Tree have signed on with Road Runner, Can we possibly expect the reissuing of Porcupine Tree's back catalog albums in the US???

I've been dying to hear some of the older material and I can only find "In Absentia" (2002) and "Deadwing" (2005) on store shelves.

BTW, I saw you guys in NYC,NY last year and you put on a fantastic show. Robert Fripp was the opener for you on that tour. (It's a shame your video moniter only worked for half of your set that nightLOL)

I think it's very cool that Steven is here! You don't see many popular musicians on random internet forums very often, so a chance to ask them a queston or chat with them is incredible, similar to meeting them. While i'm still making up my mind over whether Mr.Wilson being here is legit, it seems to be quite authentic.

Because of this thread and the presence of Mr.Wilson, I listened to many of the samples of PT here, and the Deadwing samples of the PT site. I'm planning on getting Deadwing soon, well... it's on my list of bands to get albums from, which include Gentle Giant, VDGG, PT, Opeth, Agalloch, Beyond Twilight... it's a longer list than that...

Mr.Wilson- What's your opinion on bootlegs and music downloading/ p2p file-sharing? Also, I'm curious as to why you are so enthusiastic about vinyl and making your albums on Vinyl.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
