It's very hard not to sound like a fanboy when posting something like that. But I actually have a really hard time with most of DT's work, except for those two albums, which I find enjoyable. Their other albums always lacks something at some point, but even the worst ones have their moments aswell, and it's those moments, together with Images and Words and Awake, that make Dream Theater a band worth respecting.

Check out my post in the "remove the vocalist" (or whatever it was called) poll. No fanboy would say something like that. Wink

they are worth respecting ... a band of that caliber of talent can't be dismissed.  I did try to listen to my first DT album all the way through this afternoon... I couldn't quite make it all the way through.. before I felt this burning desire to hear ELP - Toccata but I will try again to listen to it all the way through.  I may even try reviewing it.. I'll be fair in the grade but probably a bit scathing in my critique of it.  It is a classic of PM and will grade it accordingly.. but  my comments may reflect why some like me have serious serious hang ups about  this group.

Clap Clap It's just great to hear that you giving the band a listen.  If you find some things that you enjoy, all the better.

I'd be very interested to see this review when published.  Not so that I can tear it upLOL, but just to understand how DT sounds through your ears.
