I thought TAAB would be well out in front. Deservedly so imo, as alongside 'Aqualung' and 'Songs From The Wood', it's their best with TAAB being my favourite by far. I always considered APP to be a rather weak attempt to better TAAB, and has some of the most cringeworthy moments I've ever heard on a prog album...

I always thought APP is better than TAAB, more exciting and complex.

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Love 'em both but Thick as A Brick is such a classic. I think that APP is more 'interesting' musically.
I'm not sure that Thickas a Brick loses focus from c. 5-15 on the second side as much as it is just more developmental and interesting. It may be harder to get into because of that.

Passion Play is over-wrought IMO. Too many notes and not enough ideas. Thick as a Brick for me.

TAAB for me. A Passion Play was where Tull massively over played their hand, though like TFTO it's not the unmitigated disaster it's sometimes made out to be either.

Great albums. Like both, but I think should listen to them more times in order to fully appreciate there greatness. By now, I incline to Thick As A Brick.

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

Although being an old Tull fan, I've bravely chosen last offered option.

A Passion Play. Patchier it may be, but it's also wilder, funnier and downright rockier than its sister album.

Neither. Aqualung is better than both together. TAAB sounds very repetitive at some times. APP is too unfocused, se kind of TOTO (yes) bad developed. |
That's it !
