Well, I enjoy both of them.

TAAB is brilliant, Passion Play is a little overrated IMO. I just don't like it as much as most other Tull albums.

A Passion Play is great, but it just can't hold up to Thick as a Brick, one of the great masterpieces of progressive that towers above all Prog in 1972. Or maybe it's my favorite strait prog album. -------------

I like both albums VERY much but I think the most constistant of the 2 is Thick as a Brick. A Passion Play is more progressive maybe but TAAB is by far the most consistant and amazing of the two. TAAB = 5 stars, A Passion Play = 4 ------------- Best of 2006 that I've heard: PFM-Stati Di Immaginazione Zenit-Surrender (Best "unknown" album) Oaksenham - Conquest of Pacific 2007: Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon La Torre Del Alchimista - Neo |

I haven't heard APP. Thick As A Brick lost my attention after the first 10 or so minutes. So I vote neither. -------------

I thought TAAB would be well out in front. Deservedly so imo, as alongside 'Aqualung' and 'Songs From The Wood', it's their best with TAAB being my favourite by far. I always considered APP to be a rather weak attempt to better TAAB, and has some of the most cringeworthy moments I've ever heard on a prog album...

Love 'em both but Thick as A Brick is such a classic. I think that APP is more 'interesting' musically. I'm not sure that Thickas a Brick loses focus from c. 5-15 on the second side as much as it is just more developmental and interesting. It may be harder to get into because of that. |

TAAB for me. A passion play for me. The soft ballad at the beginning and repeated all over TaaB has never made it for me. I kindda like it, but sometimes I find it simply boring. On the other hand, the amazing overture of APP hooks me and never lets me go....I love it and I'm gonna hear it right now!!!!! ------------- I like Tormato, so shoot me! I have to agree with you. A 45 minutes long song with absolutely nothing acting as filler, THAT is definitely a Masterpiece.
