Live it down? I thought it made you the hero of prog-nerds (married or otherwise) everywhere!
I actually had to shave off my beard cos my kids hate it so much ... and would run away whenever I came near to kiss them ... I can take that from grown women ... but not my own kids!
Plus when I was 17 and looked 10 years older (I could buy beer in the states without being carded) ... it was very cool ... now I'm 32, I don't really want to look 10 years older!

I do have a scar on my chin though,you can even see it in the pic.
I have a bunch higher up along my hairline too,from an auto accident.
