Well I dont know about you guys but where I come from, people who listen to prog (especially old prog) are hippies with funny ideas about life and funny looking hair :) not many nerds...
Oh, and speaking of hair - My ex girlfriend had purple hair and she was HOT! seriously into prog too... even more than me! (infact she introduced me to Genesis and its only cos of her that i like prog in the first place...) she was abit insane though and dumped me for someone else ...*sigh*
I dont know why so many people in this thread have mentioned that prog is for nerds and virgins and stuff... thats just odd...

I don't care much for this poll. I had sex while listening some good albums, so I guess I don't think so. The "can't get sex" thing is more comic book / japanese animation driven. Of course, if you are very religious, but also artistically demanding, maybe this thing of listening to progressive rock and not having any sex will work perfectly. I'll think about that with my beloved Mercedes, listening to some Meredith monk and having goood beautiful sweet and caring SEX.
In fact, I'm gonna do that right now...

It was because I am unfamilar with doing postings.
Hopefully you do not treat your co-workers in the same way. If so, you must be an unpleasant person to work with, where instead of giving them the positive benefit of the doubt, you slander them with negative connotations.
As far as my original quote. The first part of original quote (I don't know how to put another quote in without erasing the previous wording) was intended to poke fun at certain men who think they are better than others because they get sex all the time. The latter was point out certain women who condemn men who go out with women only for sex, yet only go out with a man based on what he would spend on her.
No intention sexism of attacking a specific gender, especially since I tried to be sexually fair.
The person who made such accussations of sexism was not meaning to be hurtful, nor were they done in a negative manner.
I have seen similar bigotry allegations made in these forums. People should take care in making them, especially in these politically correct times when people have been fired or expelled because of such allegations.
To many times, such bigotry allegations are done in an ignorant and hurtful manner, no different than those who call women dumb broads, or call blacks the n-word.
As well, they are done like they used to accuse others of being communists in the McCarthy era, or as dope smoking hippies in the Archie Bunker era.
That is, to shut people up because they don't their opinions, or dirty politics.
Hopefully this prog rock forum can be used for people who can be sensitive, without having to be politically correct

I'd have to say yes
I'm married, and I get a whole lot more music than I get sex.
Perhaps if I stopped listening to music so much and started listening to my wife more...
NAH!!!

Prog is for all!!!
However, being a girl, with 20 yrs of going to gigs behind me, I do agree, there are a disproportionate ammount of hairy arsed guys who niether get enough sex (with another person) or daylight into prog!

I think that in some cases this might be true, but putting this as a general rule would be a bit exagerated. It doesn't have a direct connection between one thing and another

Stop this thread right away!!!!!!!!
This is a male only thread, we are supposed to discuss how sad males can be , but not in front of the enemi!!
Having woman in this thread is like having a sex-starved nerdy proghead into the female dressroom of the cheerleaders during shower times!!!~
We are not allowed in so why should they be allowed here???

Sex I havent had much luck.
You think that we all proggerheads are nerdy losers? I dont concider myself a nerdy loser.
Who thinks that that`s their problem .
For me these people are losers who listen American radio mainstream pop and rock.
I pitty them !
Anyway what I want to say that prog is not for lonely guys who cant have sex
.Maby some of them are .But not all.
Let`s keep on progrockin !!!

Nice sentiments..
Funny that you're avatar is a right hand

Very funny, very But I think that that poll is kind of true.. It's not that you can associate prog to losers, but to know prog, you have to search a little bit and those who have time to do this, well, they usually are single. To pass time like this on computer, you probably don't have a nude girl waiting on your bed... And every single guy misses sex everytime, so...

I read somewhere that in Australia (at least I think it was Australia anyways) Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon (a prog album) was at one point voted "Best album to have sex to".
Nuff said.
