That's quite a broad selection. So you don't like
bright prog, simplistic and accessible prog, dark prog or complex prog?
At least, that's how it seems. Just so I know, what bands DO you like?
|
From his name I'd guess Camel..
|
zappa, porcupine tree, elp, yes, magma, pink floyd, dream theater, godspeed you.. , opeth. etc etc.
its hard to say what kind of prog i like, but those bands above just dont do anything to me. |
Very strange... I would've thought a love of magma went hand in hand with VDGG for example.
|
he who is sitting in a glass-house...
what about Henry Cow and the Art Bears, Trousie? same situation as with Magma and VdGG

Canterbury is not crap. I don't buy in to your "same musicians,
different names" bull either. It's ok to not like something, but
next time, don't go this far. You say the music is nonsense, but
your statement is way more nonsense than the music itself. I'm
obviously defending a genre that I love

Every prog subgenre seems to be represented in this topic, so in other words , let's say frankly we don't like prog.

There's no need to enjoy EVERYTHING to say you like Prog. If we did the same with "Rock", you'd have to enjoy at the same time Cyndi Lauper, U2, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Oasis, Buggles...

genesis, jethro tull
Ive tried to force genesis into my mind way too many times, and I just realized, that just because they are considered one of the best in prog doesnt mean I will like them.

David Sherinian and Planet X
I have borrowed all six (?) of them from good friend of mine five times during last three years, but still failed to find anything in it that I can enjoy.

I just thought there might be a (prog) band with that name ... like with Brainstorm and Helloween.
