I really don't understand this...
http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAN D.asp?band_id=325 If you look at this listing for Symphony X, The Odyssey has way more reviews than the other albums, but is coming in with lower ratings than some other very good albums like Twilight in Olympus and The Damnation Game. Why is The Odyssey being featured when clearly the numerical ratings indicate that other albums are of higher quality? Is it just because a lot of people happen to have reviewed it? I hardly think THAT is a measure of quality! |

It is the third featured album, and there are only four with higher ratings. Now two would be expected, since it's in third place. Of the two which aren't featured that do have higher ratings, is not Twilight in Olympus a compilation album? Even if it isn't, it has a rating of only 0.01 higher than the Oddyssey (and far fewer ratings; clearly the number must be used in some way to calculate the key albums, or an album rated once with 5 stars would win). The other album which scored higher is a live album, which I suppose can't be considered on the same grounds as a studio one.
And you say The Damnation Game has a higher rating? It says 3.88 compared to 4.32, doesn't it? |

Twilight is NOT a compilation album at all...it's an ordinary studio release. And as for Live at the Edge of Forever, why should that be any different? If it's that good, it's that good.

Why waste words when those three explain it perfectly. I applaud the brevity. |
