I listen to a counterpoint sa5000 EVERY DAY with my best friend. he's even put on a relaxa plate, with a transparent power cable and esoteric audio cables.

Do you want me to send you a pic?

here's his system:

Speakears: JM Reynaud Cantabile
Low amp:Bryston 4B
Tube: Jolida 302 (the same as me)
Preamp: Counterpoint SA5000
Subwoofer Kef (38cm of course)

Sources:
CD Teac vrds 20 modified
Vynil Linn LP12 with Dynavector moving coil
Tape deck Naka 700 zxl, upgraded by M.nakamichi in person (tape deck intended to a french mag test bend )
Tuner Goldmund Mimesis 4

Cables Transparent in power
and Esoteric in interconnect (the same as me)
Power filters (double for the source), 5 separate electric lines, WBT topline bananas, top multiplug...

Vibration isolation: Fadel amethyst, golden sound cones, steel triangles, sicomin plates, relaxa plates.

as you see, we rae not little players

Oliver you don't play music through a tube power amp fool.

Intergrated amp. That's a bit poor isnt it?

Use one of these instead.

KRELL 'KSA100'

ARC 'SP9' PRE

Know that my Jolida works already very well (close to a Conrad J.)but when i'll bypass the source selector and then i'll replace the connectic by WBT topline (they just improve their RCA connect), it will work very much better, which means incredible!

Your preamp is less good than the Counterpoint SA5000.

Little player you are!

Here's the REAL DEAL:

Good french product:

Youve never heard a counterpoint 5000 youve never heard a Audio Reaserch 'SP9' so grow up.

I think that both Flying Teapot and Camembert: They both sound so much better than the old Charly version I had. This is on the Victor sub-label.

Hi sean,
This is russian tubes!
No pb wuth lifetime, really this is a legend:

I have it from 2 years now, and listen it an average of 4 hours a day!! and loud!!!
There's not the smallest sound deterioration, but when it will happen (loss of accurancy in the highs), i will replace the power tubes (the four big ones on the pic)and voilà! it's like new!and you're quiet for several years of musical heaven!
They cost only 30€ per tube, so 120 € each 3/4 years of intensive use.

This amp is real great, it's quite as good as Conrad Jonhson, but 2 or 3 times less expensive!
Moreover, i will replace the connectic by WBT topline connects, and it's gonna be better!

Salut Olivier,

Actually , although amps like yours are the best kind, those bulbs have relatively short life span (on average two years) before deteriorating. Not only are those bulbs expensive to replace but good quality replacement are scarce. Most audiophiles do not consider those China-made bulbs any good . You might have to look to military equipment or Russian-made bulbs but furnishing channels are to me complicated. So I gave up on that idea of ever owning such an amp.
