We'd all be eating Stilton and roasted marrow instead of Jack and BBQ ribs, not that there's anything wrong with Stilton or marrow.

What if the US had adopted German as the national language, which it almost did, instead of English?

I do not know if you are aware but there is a country north of the USA, called Canada . Still part of the Commonwealth, though not a 'Dominion'or a colony anymore. Shocked 
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.
