Xover has been paged... and will take a looksie at it.  If it fits ...it's in... if not... we'll toss it in the wastecan of PA's or pass it to the team we feel it fits if it is not Xover.  (if symphonic... we won't bother Olav LOL)

The Crossover team will be informed of your suggestion. However, there is no guarantee that they will be accepted. In fact, unlike some people seem to think here, Xover is considered a FULLY prog genre, and if the band don't qualify for inclusion there, the only other solution is to suggest inclusion in Prog-Related to the Admin Team.

Oh I know, but they did incorporate symphonic sounds in their music and wasn't sure if I should've mentioned that so I did just to cover all my bases. But definitely should be classified as Crossover because of those symphonic tendencies.

In my opinion Angel's music cannot be so easily classified as just "glam" or just "hard rock" unless you purposely ignore the bulk of their material and just listen their more simple songs, which even those still have certain complexities that their peers (such as The Sweet or Europe) wouldn't even dare go into.

Well, at least it seems quite clear that Symphonic is permanently out of the question for these guys *chuckles*

Haven't listened to the band in ages myself, so can't really say anything about how worthy or not they are. If someone from Crossover would like to take a listen, PM me if you need samples.

I'm only familiar with some Greg Giuffria solo and House of Lords, but here is a link to Wikipedia entry for Angel, and lo and behold progressive rock is listed as one of their genres along with glam rock and hard rock.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_(band)   As always, I realize that a definition from another site means little to most here at PA and absolutely nothing to Ivan, but I just found it interesting that elsewhere does mention progressive rock as one of their genres.

"Hi American Progster and welcome.

Sorry but I have to be honest in this case, even if it sounds harsh.

Angel is a Glam - Hard Rock band with IMHO absolutely no connection with Prog or even Prog Related, sounds like The Sweet meets Europe.

They don't have a chance in Symphonic and if I'm not wrong, not even in Prog Related.

Had to be absolutely honest.

Iván"

So the extensive use of the Moog and Mellotron (the same way that other symphonic bands, who will remain nameless, use them) plus the odd time signatures means absolutely nothing? Look I'm not saying they're the most complex US prog band, they're far from it, but they DID play prog. Even if its a small amount of prog, then according to PA's own definitions of Prog Related or Crossover, its still enough to include bands such as Angel who often incorporated prog rock into their music.

In Angel's defense listen to the following songs:

The Tower
Long Time
Mariner
Sunday Morning
The Fortune
Cast the First Stone
Just a Dream

Just to name a few of their proggiest tracks.

Then no offense, but you guys need to actually listen to some of their stuff, particularly their first and second albums. Sure they played hard rock but to say that there is no prog in it is just plain ignorant.

P.S. What is Soft Hard Rock?LOL

Here's one that should've been on PA before Aviary, Queen, or Styx. Angel played a fast, hard driven symphonic rock.

Albums and samples are as follows:
