the sample though...  nice... but not exactly inviting for those not predisposed to dispensing melody and traditional things that make music a pleasure to listen to LOL

Don't judge the album based on just that fun PA track -- it's much more than that. Wish I found a myspace page, but youtube has some music (really one should hear the whole album) -->

I can't understand how a barely Prog Alternative band is winning to a pioneer from Sweden.

A total no brainer for me, although I will admit to a fondness for Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac albums.

EDIT: I wonder how Zamla Mammaz Manna would have fared?  Just to mention one of my favourite albums of the 80s....

This is purely unfair. Samla who are a decent band who make amusing music sometimes (but not as well as their RIO contemporaries) versus the greatest band of all time (lol, fanboy).
I didn't even need to post and you'd all know for whom and why I voted if you've been on PA before

4-0 right now in favour of Radiohead -- that has changed with my vote.  Samla Mammas Manna very, very easily for me. It's way more fun.

One of the founding RIO bands and one of the most popular and controversial modern "prog" bands to exist. Both are very unique and have influenced many artists. Which one is your favorite and why?

Please: If you are not familiar with one or both of the band's material, I urge that you use the links provided and at least listen to the samples on their respective pages.

SMM's PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=621
Radiohead's PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1492

As always, discussions are encouraged.
