We'd all have bad teeth, drive on the wrong side of the road, and eat everything boiled, curried or in some sort of glutinous gravy.

I shudder to think what sort of music we'd be listening to without the invention of blues, jazz or rock. Probably some ridiculous variant of burlesque.

Eventually, as in the case of Australia, Canada, India, most of Africa. Sooner or later these colonies would have been given their own way. But I would imagine the borders would look different than today. Maybe British North America would be from the Atlantic coast to the Mississippi River.

I just can't imagine the food. Bangers and bloaters. Cock-a-leeky. I can't even imagine saying some names of the food dishes.

Yeah, cause Britain has no religious fundamentalists.    I don't think that would mean the religious right would not exist today. It would still be around and just as annoying as ever, I fear.

In the interests of civility and forum etiquette, I shall ignore your "football" comment.
As has been observed previously on this forum, "soccer" is public school* slang for Association Football to differentiate it from Rugby Football, which is abbreviated to "rugger" ... the toffs would have probably called North American Handegg "gridders" or something.

*Of course "public school" means "private school" such as Eton and Harrow.
What?

I've eaten "authentic" fisn'n'chips on Pier 39 in San Francisco ... the portion size was indeed ridiculous. However the fish was excellent with the batter light and perfectly cooked, the only disappointment was that the chips were "fries". Can't comment on whether mushy peas were present or not - I can't abide the revolting muck - it's baby food for adults.

I get the feeling that there aren't 'portion sizes' in the US. Only limit is how much you can get on the plate. (so gravity).

I don't think we would have won Wimbledon though.  Except maybe the ladies avec Williams Sisters.

^Yeah, I think there was. I have all 5 seasons on DVD and watched them not too long ago myself. Can't remember specifics of any of them either.

On another note, I have to wonder how that might have effected the outcome of the two world wars. Both may have been shorter as it would have sped up American involvement. Or we could have lost and all be speaking German now. There is no way to tell how a change in one event may have effected the outcome of all events which came after.
I think there was a Sliders episode where the Germans had won the war too.  I just re-watched them not that long ago, so you would think that I would remember, but I am getting old and they say the memory is the first thing to go.

That thought did cross my mind as well.  I remembered one with Mexico controlling California.  And there was one with Russia controlling California.  I couldn't remember if there was one with the US still under British control or not, but I did think that I remembered that there was one.

Of course, there is also the possibility that we did in fact lose the Revolution and at some point in the future, time travel technology was invented and that past was changed (maybe it sucked)and all of our memories of that past were modified by the change. Who knows, I may have just winked into existence.   "Time is a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff" - 10th Doctor
