one has to understand that the topic is a little vauge. obviously technically YES is better than PF, but in terms of originality? they're both original. more artistic? PF is a little more but not by much. epics? thats another tough one. PF dont have as many since most of their albums are meant to be listened as a whole. Commercial success? PF had more consecutive hits, whereas YES had hits every other album or so. and Owner of a Lonely Heart is a sad excuse for a 'hit'.
this poll is too... pointless...

Very difficult.
based on albums I choose Yes, but when it comes down to individual songs somehow Pink Floyd comes out on top.
so a tie for me.
If I have too choose it will be Yes.

All musicians in Yes are highly talented, Pink Floyd is only interesting because of David Gilmour. So my vote goes to Yes.

This poll just isn't fair! It's like asking a child "who do you love more...your mum or your dad?"
Yes, an answer will show, but it won't be fair! .

Yes to me are much more original, vibrant and atmospheric. Floyd - and I do like them - are relatively pedestrian and unimaginative, and no way as good instrumentally or in terms of songwriting

It's funny it was tied before I voted.
My vote goes to Yes, they are much more important in my life than Pink Floyd

Finally decided, after much deliberation - I vote for Pink Floyd. The atmospheres they create are far superior to Yes.
Of course, Yes are masters of the more uptempo happy sound.
I prefer the dark, doom-laden soundscapes of Floyd.
(Next week, however, who knows.....)

Yes is incredible. Pink Floyd is enjoyable. Yes wins out on this one.

er...I may be a big Yes fan but even I have to admit that Floyd were the bigger band in terms of commercial success..........though undoubtedly yes were (are) the more capable musicians.

Pink Floyd. I like psychedelic and space rock more than Yes's singing style. Also Waters's lyrics are far superior to Anderson's, just IMO.

Yes...i voted for Pink Floyd...
i believe that when it comes to compare such great bands the answer can only be subjective...so, since i enjoy Floyd better, my vote goes there...

this is a bad poll. Pink Floyd's music requires a lot of patience, due to the level of ambience, spacey and psychedelia in the music. YES requires patience, but a different kind. in other words, PF will play 5 notes for every 25 YES plays. their styles are also waaaaaaaayyy different

I voted for Yes, because I can always listen to Yes, but not always to Pink Floyd...
