 Topic: U.K. or Danger Money?

Both are great but find myself liking Danger Money a bit more, which I was surprised by seeing how much I enjoy Bruford and all his works. Just curious to see what others thought.

UK UK, because you could pronounce it ook ook. Danger Money wasn't bad, though no Holdsworth. Bozzio did well in the band as a Bruford replacement. I really like the live album, too and indeed got to see that lineup opening up for Jethro.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I prefer Danger Money, but only just. I think that DM has better songs, although the instrumental passages on the debut are stunning. I also think that Allan Holdsworth is oddly under used on the debut; Danger Money just feels more coherent somehow.

"Danger Money" for me - the title track, "Rendez-vous 6:02" and "Carrying No Cross" are outstanding. None of the songs from UK debut is equally strong or even close.

I'm a Symphonic fan, so I have to go with "Danger Money", if I was a Fusion aficionado, I would go with the debut.

I agree! And like I said I was surprised that I liked Danger Money more, because I am such a huge fan of One of a Kind and Feels Good to Me, both albums in which Holdsworth excels.
Also agree that Bozzio steps up to the plate quite well, and it would be big shoes for any drummer to follow Bruford, but he delivers an equal performance.

Hard call. Its almost like asking someone to pick between, say, two King Crimson albums featuring radically different line-ups. I'm going to let the debut edge out Danger Money, but just barely.

A tough choice. UK I think because I miss Holdsworth on Danger Money. Bruford was also gone but as great as he is, and I preffer his playing over Bozzio, he was replaced by a technically superior player.

Oh man, it's way to hard to decide. I love them both and find them both essential for different reasons. The only regret I have about UK is that they didn't make another 20 albums. I love the debut album for the free style feel and I love Danger Money for the concise feel. I'm sorry, but I can't vote here, they are both amazing albums.
