Just a quick poll for all you Floyd fetishists out there. I've included old and new bands - stemming from Turkey, Yugoslavia, Norway, Brazil, Germany, US of A and the good ol UK. Some of them go for the classic mid 70s period, like Airbag's obvious attempt at re-doing Welcome to the Machine on 'Call Me Back', whilst others revel in the earlier years - ie The Future Kings Of England and Nektar who both sound more old school in their adoration of the Floyd.

Too many great choices. From the ones I didn't know PRR and VdO are my favourites, and from the ones I already knew Eloy and Nektar. I don't know on which one I should vote Confused

Isn't there a German ,eo-prog band called WRPL (or something like that) that clones Floyd - and doubles as a Floyd Cover band?
A bit like The (Night)Watch does for Genesis??

Sure there is Hugues, but this poll is about tracks I actually dig

There are thousands of Floyd wannabes out there.

Ahh to heck with the votes Samuel. T'was never about them anyway. More like a recommendation thread of sorts.

Because I live for things that don't necessarily make sense.

^^ Well, I just did something that didn't make much sense: I listened to half of Jarre's new album even though I was almost sure it was cr*p. I was right Sick
I'm going to listen to the new Zombi now.

I gather you know Violeta de Outono, Gustavo? I would've thought you opted for your countrymen.

Yeah, they're great... but, dunno. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interesting fact: I discover Tako before Violeta de Outono. Internet allows such odd things, right?

I was just recommended the new Jarre album this morning by a PA member The collabs with Air, Massive Attack, Moby, Pete Townsend and Tangerine Dream are what interest me but at the same time also part of what could go in a horribly cheesy direction.
I am still giving it a listen. We don't always agree

I think all these artists did much better tracks and I can't see these tracks as collaborations because Jarre's input seems minimal Ermm The track with TD is the best I heard and it's just nice... but Zombi's new album is awesome Big smile

I know exactly what you mean. Been discovering a few obscure Danish acts after joining PA. Bands I knew absolutely nothing about beforehand

Great tune indeed. It was the first I heard of The Fate Of Old Mother Orvis.
Perhaps the most Floyd sounding track they've ever done.
