I made my picks for this week's games for the pool that I am in.  $10 a week.  Games are straight up but you have to pick at least 3 upsets per week.  This 1st week may just be the toughest week of the year.

The season is finally under way!

Missed the game, but glad to see my boy Pierre Thomas had a decent game for the Saints.

Thomas was a friggin power drill last night.....Only 3 TD last night combined, I just think there was way too much hype for this game. Both teams were probably way too pumped...Viks sure did look asleep except for Peterson...My Saints were loping off occasionally too..but Drew did all he needed to get the win.
Nice PAT block by the Saints, don't see that much in the NFL.

1-0

Always had a soft spot for the Saints, was rooting for them last year when the Giants season was over (LOL week 8?)
Crazy awesome team they have to, and they have addressed their issues (will it work out depends of course). And they have great small name players. I liked Pierre Thomas since he made the team. Good management.

Also here's to hoping my #2 team, the St Louis Rams don't suck! Ermm

Giants 31 Panthers 18

Woo!
Was a bit sloppy at times but the Giants D played well.
I really think a big part of the problem was injuries. With Osi, Tuck, and Phillips back (plus Rolle at safety) I'm feeling good.
Run game was meh....

Edit: Was glad to see Dan Connor from Penn State start and have a good game Smile

You'll be happy to know I have them fighting the Eagles for last place in their divison Tongue

Bad QB play and bad offensive play calling (if you read anything I wrote about Bruce Arians last year then you'd know that's expected) for the Steelers today and they still managed to scratch out a win.  Just hang in there until Ben's arbitrary suspension is over, guys, and hopefully the kicker won't miss any more chip shots.

Time always wins.

Oh wow.....Anton you ARE insane.
The redskins are always the joke of the division. Even when they are good they are the worst in NFC eastLOL
And given the problems they didn't really address and the players they acquired I don't see em being much better....

Yeah Anton, the Steelers (at least in theory) are a smashmouth team.
I'm glad they dropped Parker for Mendenhall and with Ben out I'm hoping they really run the ball again.
At the very least to keep em going without Ben

And yeah, I predicted the 49ers would be a sleeper team this year.
Too soon to say anything but damn! LOL

I may have to rescind my Redskins will be boat of fail comments....

Their O-Line was a HUGE problem....but I didn't realize they made some acquisitions.
Also Shanahan is famous for taking meh backs and making them good with his blocking schemes.

I also didn't know they changed to a 3-4 which IS easier to implement.
McNabb can still scramble.....
Maybe they will be a bit more dangerous then I thought!
NFC east is beast

Some nice games yesterday
Yes the Seahawks mopped up the 49'ers...I might have two teams to root for this season!!

Colts loose...what??
Cowboys loose...what??? (although I hope they loose a bunch more....too much hype for the Cowboys this yr)

Saints going to San Fran for next Mon night....That could be yucky for SF not sure what kind of DB they have.

The Lions kind of got screwed out of a touchdown on that last drive of the game against the Bears.  Johnson had full possession of the ball in the air, got both feet down and landed on his butt before the ball got knocked out of his hand by the ground.  It almost looked like he was trying to spike the ball.

In a weak division, Seahawks may actually take it!  I don't know what Kool-Aid they're drinking down in Renton, and I have no expectations of the team at this point, but it was a nice win over the Niners.  We'll see what the team's made of in Denver next week.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Yeah, for the record books it may be a loss...but the Lions really should've won that one.

I'm looking forward to tonight's games.
I'm really liking the Ravens in the AFC (may be the team I root for in that conference). I just hope my boy Ray Rice still gets playing time.

Also interested to see New York's #2 team play later Wink

Wow, Ravens started poorly LOL
Very first snap, 2 guys just flatten him and force a fumble.

Yet again, if the G-men don't make it I'll go for the Jets. I am loving that team. Glad to see another team out there still believes in aggressive, attacking defense and tough smash mouth football.
It just started...but the Jets D is hitting them on the other side of the line! I love it

Everyone wants to talk about how over talked the Jets are this season, but what about the Ravens? Don't get me wrong they're good. They're not a dominant playoff team though.

The Jets are a better team.

Well the Ravens have the ability to be dangerous.
I do agree the Jets are a better team, and they are playing damn tough.

Just need to keep the intensity in check and not committing so many penalties.

Got unlucky with that BS roughing the kicker call.
