Animals is probably the only classic era Pink Floyd album that I'd consider prog-by-numbers and therefore isn't as good as the others. Also, it has some moments where the band doesn't seem to know what atmosphere it's angling for and therefore latches onto some harmless or awkward middle ground.

Going back to the Krautrock discussion from yesterday, Guru Guru's Dance of the Flames is a really good album. I can't say anything about the rest of their discography, but this one is really good.
