Topic: How is "zeuhl" pronounced? Posted: June 14 2010 at 20:29
I know this is a lame question, but how do you pronounce "zeuhl"? Is it simply pronounced as "zool", or what?

Just listen to Magma singing "Da Zeuhl Wortz Mekahnik", then you will know. The "Z" is pronounced like "ts", the "eu" is pronounced like the "œu" in the French word "œuvre" (French for "opus) or the "ö" in the German word "böse" (which means "bad"). There is no Enlgish word with that sound.
You can hear it in this video at 2:30:

For some reason I imagine Ziltoid the Omniscient saying that every time.
And I still have trouble pronouncing Zeuhl.

I'm still not sure how to pronounce Weidorje actually.
And Theusz is not pronounced how you read it either. It's more of a D sound.

Pretty much. It's more of a Hahm-tack though.

I knew it was something like that. Has there ever been a prog pronunciation thread? I've always wanted a thread where you can ask how to pronounce various songs/albums/artist names.
