So I was grooving on Bent Knee and this popped into my head as a fun poll. Just looking at the artists I have put up it is impossible to choose a favorite. So I'm gonna allow multiple votes.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

German symphonic prog band Hoelderlin have a strong violinist, and Chris Karrer in Amon Düül II plays the violin on occasion with good effect. |

Kansas and UK here. I would have picked Big Big Train as well if they were on this list.

From the list, the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It's hard to pass up Jean-Luc Ponty's solo efforts (Imaginary Voyage, Enigmatic Ocean, Cosmic Messenger, Individual Choice, etc.)

Van der Graaf. Graham Smith's violin on The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome give that album a distinctly different sound from the Van der Graaf Generator albums.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.
