4 stars This is the project of composer and multi-instrumentalist, Jason Brower. He also sings with a female singer. The music is heavily influenced by the symphonic style of the 70's with some long epic songs The production is typical of the 80's era, it reminds me of the album ''Battlement'' from the band Neuschwanstein. The production could have been better including the vocals but it was recorded with limited technology. The addition of Mellotron strings & choir brings something appealing to the music. The songwriting quality of the music is of high caliber with some enjoyable duel between keys and guitars. ''Playing Fool'' the shortest track has a cool melancholic atmosphere that is not too far from Genesis. ''Blood of Martyrs'' brings many tempo changes with some solid guitar and keyboard parts. The dark lyrics throughout are matching perfectly the music. The last epic song ''Inside this Wonderland'' brings some hope with some uplifting harmony vocals, like the light at the end of the tunnel. The peace is back in a slow tempo pace in the music with some piano. We have here some beautiful soft parts where we are move by the melody that seems to never ends. This is a nice nostalgic album that can enjoy lovers of Symphonic prog rock and maybe some Neo-Prog fans.
