THE SHIP

From Switzerland appears in early '70s this obscure band named Tea with 3 albums released in their little more then 5 years career. They had quite a prolific live activity around their second album The ship issued in 1975, touring with Queen and Uriah Heep, but with all that they remaining quite unknown to larger public. Musicaly speaking is a combination of progressive rock with hard rock moves, quite popular around that time, being similar with bands mentioned above. There are some good tunes here, specially the longer ones, the opening 7 min. Breakdown and 8 min plus I'd Never Have Bothered, nice arrangements, nice guitars and keyboards and pretty solid vocals coming from well known vocalist Marc Storace who will make history with legendary Krokus. All in all from the 3 albums released I think The ship to be the most consistent release from their catalogue, nothing special but worth for a couple of spins. They disbanded in spring of 1977. 3 solid stars.
