4 stars This is an extraordinay gift to all genuine Marillion fans. A fantastic box set including all their single releases during the great Fish era.

While listening to it, I can only have deep, deep, DEEP regrets that Fish having left the band. Of course what we'll get here is the most commercial side of this once great band (remember these are singles). One notable exception : "Grendel". Yes, in full. It is one of my top three Marillion number and it was really adventurous to put this on the market in 1983 , even if it was an extended single.

The only concern is that once in a while, the listener will get two or even three times the same song with different arrangements (edits, single version, extended mix, etc). So, when you listen to it in a row (yes I did it a few times) it might sound a bit too much (but at the end of day, it is what it is all about : to offer ALL of these singles to the fans).

I would rate this compilation with four stars. Of course, if you analyse it on a pure prospective of singles it deserves five; but there are so many other fabulous songs out there from their original line-up, that four seems more logical to me.

Do enjoy this set of CD's. It is even sold for a decent price.
