Not nearly enough! I actually listed my music collection recently and it turns out that I have around 140 original CD's and 40 CD-R's (not counting ROIOs here). But at least a vast majority of those are records that range from good to simply fantastic. Ah, the curse of having started to collect music so late in life......................

I have 102...jejejej originals...well I do not have 550...but thats because Im 17...jejejej, still I really would like to have some more. How many albums do you buy in a month??? I usually by two...but I have bought even 5 in a month...thats when I have money jejejeje, since I bought a new guitar I have only been able to by one cd in the last two month...Aqualung! Maybe 70-100. I'm much more into vinyls... If you get bored to the music on them, you still have nice covers, and you can attach two LP's with a tape to your ears, if you suddenly run out of mickey mouse hats.

It is not the size that matters (Jee, I am sounding like my wife), but it is the quality. 10,000 albums including the complete work of the Kelly Family (although I still have a weak spot for David's song), MC Hammer, David Hasselhoff, doesn't match one album of pure and beautiful prog.

"Original" and "CD" prerequisites aren't fair!!! I have many copy (pirated I haven't counted lately, but original CD's must be up to 40 something... as for vinyl, I'm between 100 and 150 (depends if Turkish records are included or not btw, I have very good Turkish prog-folk-rock records from the '70's, that not one knows about! Whish I could upload some bands to progarchives... ------------- Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!) |

haven't we all ... I think it depends on the ratio of original CDs vs. mp3. With my 550 original CDs, I don't have a problem saying "I only download muic for evaluation, and if I like it, I buy it". But if someone has 50 CDs and for example 250 downloaded albums ... that's not for evaluation. In the last year I have increased my collection from 12 cds to 240 (i just counted today after i organized them into alphabetical order) Over 200 of them are Prog! Recently I've been getting alot of classical music for two reasons 1. Perhaps you'd like to try THA TANGENT's "A Place in the Queue" - except for that 3-minute disco song that, unfortunately, doesn't turn out as funny as Tillison intended it to be, the rest of the repertoire is fantastic, vibrating, intense, well achieved. Regards. |
