don't want examples  (easily)  taken from VA tribute cds like those put out by Colossus or on, say, Magna Carta label.

TETRAGON -  for example (The Nice)

ORME - rondo (The Nice  - okay, not origionally by The Nice, but likely they are jumping-off The Nice version, right?)

The TRIP - ughhh,forget which

SYRIUS - 20th century Schizoid Man

PFM  - same  & Aqualung

MIKE QUATRO JAM BAND - court of Crimson King

The kings of playing Prog covers are obviously DT. Neal Morse has also done a few such as his 'Neal Morse plays Pink Floyd' album.

Anekdoten played a cover of "Starless", back when I saw them in.... '94? I think that was it.

Okay, PHISH are not prog, but they did a wonderful "Watcher In The Skies" on the Genesis Rock Hall of Fame thing.

Wallace only mentions this to deride that beautiful people audience there.
Remember the look on those faces?

They were obviously clueless as to wot Genesis were prior to Abacab.
So then why were they at a Genesis  induction?

Everyone knows: cos they are sh*t-eating peacocks.

I saw Zappa do a cover of "Whipping Post." I'm still scratching my head.
Then again, when the Allmans were breaking out they had a huge contingent of prog-loving fans.

Aye.
What an absolutely wick band, Smell of Incense.

But , as their band name implies, their covers are mostly psych:  Ayesha, If not this time... Their first single was cover of psych band - mebbe Peanut Butter Conspiracy, I forget. "I'm Allergic to Flowers"

Close prog one would be proto with Czar's "Tread Softly on my Dreams".

Ive had long-LETTER * correspondance with leader ,Lumpy Davy. Great bloke.

*he looks down on  computer correspondance.
