The Flaming Lips have released what's being described as a full-on prog album, under the band name Electric Würms. The CD is called "Musik, die Schwer zu Twerk," and by press accounts is an extension of their previous album, "The Terror." While the Flaming Lips have always flirted with psychedelic and prog (and merit an inclusion in PA, in my opinion), their most recent sound, beginning with the sprawling "Embryonic" album and continuing through their cover of Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Terror," have seen them move to a more Krautrock- and Can-influenced brand of prog.

Wow, is this going to be on the CD? They've covered Floyd and King Crimson in the past, channeled Can, and now they're doing Yes. (I'll bet they still don't get into PA though LOL )

They haven't quite reached the level of Robert Plant.

For those who use Spotify, the track is already there. But look for "Electric Würms".

Ok, so I don't necessarily like to be negative, but I've heard a couple songs from this thing so far and It's just reeeeaaaallly dumb. I used to love The Flaming Lips. Yoshimi is in my Top 5 albums, but the band has been steadily throwing away brain cells over the past decade (was it that long ago?) and the result is just repetitive psychedelic noise. It's such a terrible thing to have one of your favorite bands get so insanely sh*tty and tuneless. I don't wish it on anyone.

I agree, seems like they are clutching at Tori Amos's drawers.....

I like their spacey jams. But ... covering Yes ... sorry, attempting to cover Yes is a bit of a mistake. They haven't the technical skills to pull it off. If they just did an original is this same style, it would have been fine, but it just makes me want to hear the original. In fact ... yep, here it is.
