I stumbled across some stuff by John Frusciante, ex red hot chilli's guitar player, and thought it was really good. I couldn't find any topics on his music in the forums. In my judgement there is a fair few progressive elements on show here such as the diverse instrumentation and complex song structure. It's supposed to be a concept album too, though I'm not sure what it's about yet. I think it's really well written stuff. I just wondered how  'prog' other people think that it is on here.

I could be wrong but I think that the site policy does not allow for posting links to full albums.  Or at least I have seen in frowned upon in the past.

Even if it's on YouTube..?
Anyways.

John's solo work is extremely hit or miss, and while i'm not a huge RHCP fan - i do think he is a good guitarist. He and Flea have been involved in a lot of TMV's material. John does the first guitar solo in L'Via L'Viaquez, among other contributions.

That one looks like it is on John Frusciante TV, so maybe it is OK, as it implicitly has his approval?

He's not listed in the PA so this thread is in the wrong place. He's been suggested several times and been rejected. His music is something a Prog fan might find interesting but that's not enough.

Was never a RHCP fan. Upon the few songs tht i hv heard,i can say tht he's a gud guitarist..
And now tht i hav taken a whole-hearted dip into the ocean of progressive rock,i dnt want to go bck to artists of my earlier times..
Or have i totally stopped being progressive about music???

His newest albums that are electronica-based should qualify for this site as "prog-related" at the very least. They are generally very experimental and use unconventional song structures, rhythms (often), and arrangements.

PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone
Enclosure
Renoise Tracks 2009-2011

That's all I've listened to of his new material. There may be other material that qualifies.
