Is there a connection between Incubus and Marillion?  I was wondering because Incubus has a song called 1984 which is also the year Marillion released Fugazi which has a song called Incubus on it.  And while I'm asking is there a connection between Fugazi the band and Marillion?

I loved the band Fugazi....but Marillion and Incubus?  File under:  derivative pop mush.

incorrect. incubus have a song called 'talk shows on mute' which contains, in the lyrics, '1984'.

umm... yea no connection at all.

incubus is awesome though... dont make fun.  not prog of course, but brandon boyd is an incredible vocalist, probably the best in modern rock.

fugazi is also great, but no connections at all.  there are several bands with albums/songs called fugazi, simply because it means "f**k you" in some language.

"Fugazi" is a Vietnamese word (I've read this on a review of the album when it was released back in 1984), but I don't know its meaning.

well, some people have been known to jump on others for extolling the virtues of non-prog bands in the prog music lounge.

fugazi is an acronym from the vietnam war meaning F ucked  Up Zipped In Gunned At  thats how fish is talking about in Fugazi.  Incubus is the Demon which rapes women in their sleep, the members of the band Incubus thougt it sounded funny and the definition had the word sex in  it.

I used wikipedia

I think only in She Chameleon : "So was it just a f*ck, was it just a f*ck, just another f*ck I said" towards the end of the song

I prefer DC hardcore band Fugazi to both Marillion and Incubus.  ian mackaye rules!
