Big or small, roughly how many meals do you eat each day? I ask this question because lately my appetite has rocketed and I want to see how weird my eating habits are

Depends really, but I figure it's between 4 and 5 meals a day, with two big ones. This Dane needs fuel.

3, not counting snacks when I get home from work or school.
Sometimes 2 on the weekend if when I get up late.

2-3 medium sized meals, with a couple of snacks here and there (sometimes too many, i'd say Embarrassed)

a big protein shake w/ banana
a solid dinner
a big protein shake w/ banana

My relationship with food has changed a bit over the years--  I used to skip brek and go all day on coffee then have a big supper, but then I started trying to build some muscle and I had to increase my protein and carbs by at least 3x.   Now I have to consume at least 140 grams of protein per day or I don't feel well.

I try to do 3 per day although sometimes when I am working it becomes 2. Sometimes I am too tired after work to even bother but I am trying to make a ritual of it so that I can meditate through the day's events. I always start the day with an omelet of some kind and lunch is usually a salad. Dinner is whatever I can dream up - and speaking of which, I am starting to get hungry!

Three fairly modestly sized meals a day. I used to eat like a race horse but these days I'll put on weight very quickly, partly because of my age and opartly having to cut down on my exercise due to tennis elbow and gout - again because of age.

I suddenly got very old and decrepit within the space of about three months. At least it feels that way..

Always three meals.
Snacks: that's a different thing.
Officially I plan 4 snack moments per day.
But sometimes it's like in Alice in Wonderland: "Eat me, eat me".
Chocolate and salted peanuts are the most noisy snacks in this respect.

ideally 3 + a snack
- solid breakfast of greek yogurt with some granola
- a pretty big lunch
- a piece of fruit right before workout
- sometimes a protein shake after workout then later a light dinner

Generally two.

But all the snacks and junk I eat in between could probably constitute the third.

For me it's a heavily bean based meal and then a glass of nice Single Malt

Once in the morning/noon/afternoon (light or large) and once in the evening (light or large) = twice a day. I guess I just have appetite issues. Eating is boring.

Yesterday I ate for two people. Scrumptious indeed, but I was visiting my folks, and my mom had just pulled some homemade buns out of the oven. Top that with the hot leverpostej, she'd also made herself, made this Dane completely forget the diet he's supposed to be following

Dude!!!!!! Who the f.u.c.k. is cooking your meals??!??

That there is just sad. When food is good - man......I don't know how to describe it, but there is just something about it that mimics music. I often compare sounds to food actually, textures, fluidity or lack of it, sometimes it's almost as if you can taste the music.

I react to good food in the same way I react to good sex: a great big satisfied moan, followed by a grin on my face and a cigarette.

Eating is eating. I'm familiar with the processes of chewing and swallowing. I've tasted different food groups, and I'm familiar with them too. Tastes are not like the universe to me - they aren't infinite. I have an idea of what tastes like what. It's like as if I've conquered the universe. Besides, I can't afford fancy restaurants to explore other cuisines and culinary products.

For me, Mon-Fri - breakfast sometimes (can't eat at 4am) or a mid-morning snack on tea-break.
Lunch (always). Snack or something small when I get home from slavery, then dinner.
On the weekends, my eating/drinking habits cannot be controlled, just eat when I feel like, what I feel like and how I feel like. No wonder I feel like a bag of s.h.i.t. on Mondays.......

Usually 2-3. I often skip lunch and have an early dinner. But I do have a snack or two throughout the day. Breakfast and dinner are always big meals, so lunches are usually smaller if I have it.

Two meals; lunch and supper, rather large normally. I skip breakfast. It spoils my lunch. If I have a pill that needs to be taken on an empty stomach, morning is the only time. Snacking is permitted anytime.

For the longest time I was eating 2. I've never been a fan of breakfast, unless it's breakfast for dinner. LOL

But the past year as I've been losing extra weight and getting in shape, I've been eating 3 meals of controlled calories. I can still eat pretty tasty things, though I've almost completely removed fried anything from my diet.
But my body is fueled better now with 3 feedings a day. I also save a little room for snacks and desserts sometimes. But we've also been making our own kefir and flavoring it with strawberry puree and natural sweeteners, so that is sometimes enough to act as a dessert.
