^ you mean you liked the previous one or you want them to return to a 70's sound (very improbable)? Smile

^I really recommend you 'Sea of Light' and 'Into the Wild'. Those are definitely great albums.

Unfortunately, Heep did a lot of misfires in 80's, so you can simply ignore everything they did from 'Conquest' to 'Different World'. Thankfully, they got back into shape in 1995.

I like Wake the Sleeper but I'd prefer a more varied sound a la Into the Wild.

No, I think UH current line-up (yes, there were inevitable drummer and bassist replacements) has its own identity and "Sea of Light" and "Sonic Origami" are very strong albums. They don't sound like Heep 70s works, but they have what I call Uriah Heep magic. I'd prefer an album in the vein of these works.
Though the band have the obvious right to do what they want. Anyway I'll get a copy of new album. Smile

I agree, the last two albums  "wake the sleeper" and "into the the wild" was both dissapointment records ( too much hard rock and simple compositions) however, "sea of light" and " sonic origami" are masterpieces with more beautiful melodic and progressive sound!
I hope the new album sounds like "sea of light" and "sonic origami"!!!

Actually, I like everthing Uriah Heep has done with singer Bernie Shaw from Raging Silence.

The loss of the late Trevor Bolder could be considered a major blow given his songwriting talents. Hope they have replace that.

I just don't want them going back to their so called classic 1970's sound as it would be 2nd rate immitation as shown by way too many bands who have also tried to revisit their classic sound

Thanks for your comment. I like too their Bernie Shaw's era.

As a matter of fact, Ragin Silence is very good.

^ I like Bernie Shaw's era too, the band was always good live.
Though "Raging Silence" and "Different World" do not sound like Uriah Heep. In my opinion "Sea of Light" was their breakthru.

Well, Different World is their weakest album in my humble opinion.

Bernie's debut Raging Silence was way more promising. Fortunately this band went on to produce strong matetial as Sea of Light.

^ The band did not have enough time to write songs and record "Different World", while record label demanded new album as soon as possible.

To me "Different World" sounds like "Raging Silence -2" - not too bad, but not a true UH record. But anyway these albums showed fans that the band is still alive.

Bernie's gettin older but he's got a good set of pipes.

Mick Box looks good as always... like the good wine he gets better.

Thank you for posting that.

I saw them live several times since 1987, they always play like there is no tomorrow.
