I saw her at the Birmingham Hippodrome on 5th April 1979 ('TheTour Of Life', or 'Lionheart Tour' as it was originally called). It was her fourth show of the tour, and it was one of the best gigs I ever attended. That was her last ever tour...almost 35 years ago.

This one isn't really a tour because all 15 shows are at the same venue.  Last time she did a 21-venue six-week tour, travelling all around Britain and mainland Europe, and it ended at the Hammersmith Odeon - now the Hammersmith Apollo - the venue she has chosen to return to for the new shows. She was just 20 at the time, and she said afterwards: "I felt a terrific need to retreat as a person because I felt that my sexuality, which in a way I hadn't really had a chance to explore myself, was being given to the world in a way which I found impersonal."

Well, I had her picture on my bedroom wall...Sorry Kate!  Embarrassed

I think it could be pretty difficult to come by tickets for any of these! I will be sitting on linne next week pressing various buttons.  If I do get tickets (There I go , fantisising already) I hope she plays all stuff off Aerial and Snow! Tickets first!

I fear you may be right. I predict now the various websites selling the tickets all crash within minutes and the Internet is flooded with people complaining that they couldn't get tickets.

I'm still going to try though - does anyone know where you can sell your right bollock?

Yeah, I bet, although I'm the legitate vendors of these tickets will also be charging the earth for them. I may be wrong - I hope so - but no one should realistically expect any change from £150 per ticket imo.

I think the top prices are £139 or thereabouts. Kate is the only artist I would pay this kind of money for, but maybe I should go for some of the lower priced ones. Basically I'm just going to go for whatever I can get, not holding out that much hope even with an advance sale code.

Apparently since I signed up with her website a few years ago I could get a first shot at tickets along with all other members. But yeah, still that seems unlikely especially since I'm poor and live a few thousand miles away.

Anyway, It would be a little hilarious if she closed the whole series with "Get Out of My House."

So that's 15 x 2500 which is about 37,500 if my maths is right. That would be about an audience of only half of Wembley Stadium over 15 nights. She chose to play there as its easily accessible from where she lives which is Oxfordshire I think.  I will happily go to any of the gigs but will probably have to settle for a DVD if it is filmed which I presume it will be. You just know that she will rope in Dave Gilmour to do a show or two.

Her 'Homeground' fan mag has announced that it is publishing a two-volume anthology containing the best of the publication's features on her: http://www.progrockmag.com/news/kate-bush-fan-site-to-publish-anthologies/" rel="nofollow - http://www.progrockmag.com/news/kate-bush-fan-site-to-publish-anthologies/ :

"Homeground, affiliated with the KateBushNews.com website, has been following her career since 1982, and the anthology covers her musical output from Wuthering Heights to 50 Words For Snow. It comes with an introduction by actor and fan Guy Pearce.

Peter and Krys Fitzgerald-Morris and Dave Cross explain in their preface: “We need to make it clear what this book is not: it is not a definitive book about Kate Bush, her life and music.

“It is principally an anthology of what appeared in 30 years of issues of HomeGround. The question was whether we followed a HomeGround chronology or something rather more logical; so we followed a Kate chronology, dividing material from the magazine into three parts covering the first 35 years of her career.”

The first section covers events which took place before the magazine was launched. The second details Bush’s career in the 1980s and the third looks at her withdrawal from the public eye while continuing to make music.

The editors say: “We noted with some surprise the now professional artists, musicians, singers and performers we first knew as fellow Kate fans. Also the now doctors, and academics we first met at Kate conventions, and the now parents and grandparents we first met up on Haworth Moor or on Glastonbury Tor. We thought it would be a good idea to invite some of our long term readers to write down what being a Kate fan had meant to them over the years, and their recollections appear with ours.

“What has surprised us in the making of this book was actually how much good artwork we had. Two of our principal contributors, Steven Brown and Paulina Stuckey, have gone on to become
 professional artists and illustrators.”

The HomeGround anthologies go on sale next month – visit http://katebushnews.com/" rel="nofollow - http://katebushnews.com/ for full details.

Managed to get as far as placing two tickets in the shopping basket then it all went pear-shaped. By 9:40am only a few hospitality tickets were left.

The more I think about it the more depressed I get and I'm struggling to be philosophical about the whole thing at the moment.

I actually don't know if I'm going to have time to keep playing with these f***ing websites all day.

I've got a couple of other things to do...like work...

I'm guessing 'Currently not available' probably means that thousands of people are currently in the process of buying tickets, and as a Johnny Comelately there's no room at the table for you.

Kate, you'll just have to add another 20 shows please..

I've not heard anything about dates being rearranged but the tickets were only being sold through 3 web sites as far as I know. Which one did you get yours through?

I'm going on Friday 5th September, although I've accidentally booked the tickets on the same day we have tickets for the theatre. Oops.

Probably means it is already sold out by now?

Managed to get a ticket , very lucky I think as the first ticket I went for was a Saturday and about £49 which was optimistic so then switched to a Wednesday and £95. Didn't expect to get it but it seems to have gone through fine. Apparently if I choose to sold it on then I would get 10 times what I paid for it. That's not right and not fair. Its academic though and I will be going. This is a dream for me. Kate is very special. I would only push the boat out for about 3 artists and the other 2 would be Pink Floyd and Led Zep if they ever reformed.  I would even include a full blown reunion of the classic Genesis line up in the same category.

Has anybody read anything concerning her band for these gigs? I'm curious to know who will join her.

All I know is Del Palmer is not one of them.

I do hope there is a real band and this is a rock affair....at least for part of the show.

Pah! Grrh! Etc!

Ugh. I had my alarm set to wake me up 10 minutes before they went on se. And I slept through it because I have been working late nights and was simply too exhausted. Really hoping she adds more dates!

I remember reading on Wikipedia that the band she used in the late seventies was the remnants of the pop group created by Alan Parsons called Pilot.

She should get Dave Gilmour,Donald Fagen  and Steve Gadd for these gigs although that might annoy those that don't have tickets a bit.Wink
