Not sure where to put this topic, I guess General Discussions it is.

I just watched the film last night and kept thinking it reminded me of Steven Wilson & In Absentia and/or the song 'Index'.

I remember when I saw Wilson in concert earlier this year and he was introducing 'Index', he said the song was about a serial killer. Hmmmm.

Pretty decent flick, a bit on the creepy side with Terence Stamp's character, and Samantha Eggar was a hottie back then.

Does anyone know if this was where Wilson got his inspiration from? While I'm a Wilson/PT fan, I've never delved too deeply into song meanings or where they came from.

That's actually from a John Fowles novel called The Collector which they then made into a film.
I have no idea if Wilson used that as an inspiration but several of his songs on various albums have a dark theme related to serial killers/violence/psychotic people  in general.
