These are the stuff that i found while i was doing my search:
Blackwater Park - Dirt Box (full album, sorted on a playlist) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT7T-f4IeTI&list=PL94gOvpr5yt2ajUX4qz4YwnGZPzWegs47

Just listened to the Blackwater Park track which sounds quite like Atomic Rooster. Have you heard Rooster's In Hearing Of and Death Walks Behind You? I'd definitely recommend those. In fact the singer sounds a bit like Chris Farlowe who was in Rooster's later less-loved "Heavy Funk" incarnation, so you might want to check out the Made in England and Nice n Greasy albums too.

ah, this might turn out to be my favourite thread
RUPHUS - New Born Day (1973) - excellent Norwegian HP, female vocals, though sounds quite like a UK band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjTjF4LTviE" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjTjF4LTviE
FUSION ORCHESTRA - Skeleton in Armour (1973) - female vocals again (J. Joplin influence here), quite free structures, they have just reformed as FO2, lovely stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgUJSdizTJE" rel="nofollow - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgUJSdizTJE

Stray Dog were on ELP's Manticore label and toured with ELP . Not sure they were prog but they were heavy.
Someone called Rob Brook writes a brilliant review on Amazon for their eponomously titled album which I have copied:
Every other artist seems to have their own label these days but back in the in '70s record companies were big boys' toys. Led Zeppelin had one so when Emerson Lake & Palmer woke up to find they were being hosed down with cash from live performance and bumper record sales, they did the decent thing and formed Manticore. Stray Dog didn't just limp in one day sad and homeless. Roadies spotted the blues rock power trio strut their stuff in a bar and the next thing the Dawg were riding on the high hog of excess: stretched limos, great studios, hanging out with Greg Lake, and a tab that never ran out. It shows on 1973's brio-fuelled debut: all cock and swagger, a Texan Budgie with flashes of prog, it's a fine and raucous set with showy guitar from vocalist Snuffy Walden. One promo pic features the guys at a boardroom table in tuxes, cigar and brandy to hand. Oh yeah! but when it failed to move molehills never mind mountains, panic set in at the label and bean-counters fast cut budget for 1974's 'While You're Down There'. Featuring a by now expanded five-piece with a second guitarist and a keyboard player, the band's sound may have been broader but the material of choice was sadly inferior and the result more of a smooch than the tongue job the boys unleashed the previous year. The dog put down, Walden wound up depping for Free's Paul Kossof and, a far cry from Stray Dog, eventually hit his stride writing TV show music. Both albums have juicy bonus bites but give them a bone for their breathless debut.

Lucifer Was recorded an album in the early 70's titled "Underground and Beyond". For whatever reason the album was never released. Close to some 30 years later..the band couldn't locate the original recording and so they re-recorded it and it was released. It was written in that time period of the "Heavy Prog Rock" bands in the 70's and it sounds that way. It's a cross between the Black Sabbath guitar style and the Jethro Tull flute and time signatures. Of course Tony Iomni played with Jethro Tull at "Rock n' Roll Circus and the "heavy" guitar tone was often applied by Martin Barre in the early days and so...the guitar sound of Sabbath is not dominating to Lucifer Was" music..it's just blending like it did with Tull in the 70's. You might like the album "Underground and Beyond".

Mine as well. Robert Fripp played on it and the LSO so perhaps not distancing himself that far from prog to start with. Its a fascinating album. Production wise it seems to have the sixties slightly mono/almost muddy production that was not the glossy Genesis sound. I think he was distancing himself from Genesis not alligning himself with punk as such (imo)

Karthago is an interesting one....the 1974 album Rock'n'Roll testament has Glenn Cornick (ex-Jethro Tull) on bass. There are a number of class tracks on this LP, especially the very catchy "I'm Back Again". Cornick's bass on the whole album is superb.
I will also nominate Wishbone Ash but only a sprinkling here and there e.g. "Don't Come Back" from "There's The Rub", "Mother of Pearl" and especially "Runaway" from "New England", "Stand and Deliver" and "Way of the World (part 2)" from "No Smoke Without Fire" and finally "Lifeline" from "Just Testing". Whoa...that's a big sprinkling!

Goes along with my other post, but sadly, the word "heavy" has lost its meaning, and an admin thinks the word is crap anyway so choosing anything as "heavy" is silly, bizarre and what not.
But in many ways, AD2, is probably too serious and meaningfull to be appreciated by many folks here, and that is probably the reason why a lot of folks don't like it. And things like "Mozambique" and "Apocaliptyc Bore" are much more than just a rock song in many ways. Considering that even Mozambique got its independence some 6 months later, makes the song even more poignant , but you fight on!
Reminds me of their song ... shoot, shoot, go ahead and shoot, make up your mind before I make it up for you ... and I don't think people like to be challenged or for the most part, it looks like no one will be taking a whole lot of twerk'rs seriously, including Mick Jagger!
Come to think of it, it's also one of the things many people don't like Bob Dylan, and his sardonic style of delivery helped make "Blonde on Blonde" outstanding, but man, it was laden cynicism, and other bad stuff for any relationship! Full of mistrust, and the like!
But as Dean is fond of saying, it's just a pop song, anyway! I tend to define "heavy" as a whole lot more than a pop song, and nearing the works on poetry and other writings. I think that the lyrics in TFTO and CTTE are "heavy", but here it is an image of a sound effect, and supposed lyric, and it's hard for me to take twerk'ing too seriously!

Once again Pedro's trying very hard to confused everyone over a word with at least twenty one different meanings.
Having relatively great weight: a heavy load.
Having relatively high density; having a high specific gravity.
Large, as in number or quantity: a heavy turnout; heavy casualties. Large in yield or output: heavy rainfall.

Simple really. There's an album made specifically for you it would seem. Morte Macabre's Symphonic Holocaust should do the trick. Heavy, symphonic and absolutely drenched in mellotron.

Might not be the right discussion to ask but I've been trying to find a song a friend once played me... Only lyrics I can remember is "Let's take a walk in the park" Definitely prog or prog-related,late 60's early 70's...Female singer with a distinct voice! If anyone has even the slightest idea please let me know!

You could be thinking of "Now and Forever" by Sam Brown from her sophomore album April Moon - it's not Heavy, it's not Prog but she is related to prog related in that she has sung with David Gilmore, Pink Floyd, Jon Lord and Deep Purple, Gilmore has also sang & played on a couple of her albums, and Gavin Harrison has drummed.

You could be referring to Emtidi's Saat album though it's psychedelic folk more than anything.

Amon Duul II's "Wolf City" is a favorite of mine, with some really nice heavy moments! More guitar & bass oriented than the electronic music like Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream etc.
Check this out & see if you like it:
I think that the lyrics in TFTO and CTTE are "heavy", but here it is an image of a sound effect, and supposed lyric, and it's hard for me to take twerk'ing too seriously!
just in case someone does not know "Mozambique":
great song! and the last 5 minutes are really heavy; you can almost see "the white beast " in the villages, "dealing only in death"

My bad I changed it now.
Another German prog band I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is Frumpy. Their second outing simply called 2 is very tasty:
I have been trying to promote Frumpy ever since I came to this site.
Inga Rumpf has more power in her voice than most other prog singers,
including males.
another band with Inga Rumpf is Atlantis. they
are for some reason not in the archives yet though they are at least
prog-related. and their first album is in my opinion definitely prog.
and their "Live at Fabrik" album should be in every record collection.
here
two tracks from the first self-titled album of Atlantis. the first
track has a quiet mid-section: it is not over after 4 and a half minutes
and here a track from their second album "It's Getting Better" (which is my favorite of them apart from their live album):
is
this not at least prog-related stuff? especially when you keep in mind
that the line-up of Atlantis is almost the same as that of Frumpy. and it is definitely heavy!

Sort of in the same vein as Max Webster and Triumph:
Not technically prog, though I believe they were trying to target prog fans. They're even a bit symphonic.

On the subject of heavy Krautrock you might also find Lucifer's Friend worth a listen too. They were like the German Black Sabbath.
Can you recommend me more bands like Lucifer's Friend?
It's difficult to think of any..although I believe there were several bands in the 70's that hailed from Norway, Germany, and Hungary having a dosage of the Lucifer's Friend style and sound. One band , (which was mentioned earlier), is Omega. 200 Evvel Azutolso Haboru Utan is somewhat identical to the Lucifer's Friend style. The early Lucifer's Friend ..which is the 2 albums..Lucifer's Friend and Where The Groupies Killed The Blues. Excuse me..that's a laughable title..but anyway...the album is more progressive than the first ..but it's still very "heavy" Songs like "Rose On The Vine" are very strange and unique for the time. Although John Lawton seemed to have a little of David Byron's vocal style within him...he was a better vocalist and surprisingly held higher pitched notes for longer extended periods of time. Lucifer's Friend released "Rock n' Roll Singer" which was a cheesy Pop album compared to the first 2. Banquet had a "Big Band" style with the addition of horns and orchestra (I believe?), and very sugar Pop oriented.
Lucifer's Friend recorded 2 albums as the band Pink Mice. Pink Mice is a mixture of Classical and Heavy Prog Rock. All instrumental. Guru, Guru released an album titled Kanguru which starts off very smooth and distant and develops into some very heavy prog later.

So, i've been digging out some obscure heavy prog rock lately, i wanted to know if you can recommend me some albums which is related to this genre
I wonder if anyone could recommend me more than this, i know there are some good Heavy Prog which is more popular than what i am showing you (Bands like Kansas, Rush etc).
I ind it interesting that you consider Karthago to be prog. Jean and I think so too, at least prog-related, but when we suggested them for the archives they were rejected.
As to suggestions: The second album of Guru Guru, "Hinten", is really heavy. Here one track from it:

Guru Guru are the chameleons of rock; almost every album is in a completely different style. So don't expect other albums of them to be that heavy; only "Hinten " has the heavy touch.
