The Unbroken Vow

Here comes the pain   _|_|

Here comes the fire _|_|

There’s my reward _|_|

There goes desire _|_|

Out the window with the flame

Time to start the funeral pyre

This is where I’m heading now

So much for the unbroken vow

She saw me coming and then she made me suffer in the ash

Who’d have thought she’d leave me and turn my life into a sonic crash

Everything about her was never as it seems

When she turned a detour on the road to shattered dreams

I turned around and looked for her she’d vanished in the night

Never had I felt such agony by firelight

Here comes the pain

Here comes the fire

There’s my reward

There goes desire

Frozen future doused the flame

Inner turmoil on the pyre

Passing signposts by the hour

So much for the unbroken vow

Took my breath away when I saw her that day|

She lit my eyes up and then she tore out my heart

My love breached clean out of the ocean of dismay

Now my temperament is really off the chart

Never in my life had I felt such a killing pain inside

Only when I stopped to think did I realise our love had died

I turned around and looked for her she’d vanished in the night

Now I know what lovers go through entangled in a fight

Here comes the pain

Here comes the fire

There’s my reward

There goes desire

Frozen future doused the flame

Inner turmoil on the pyre

Passing signposts by the hour

So much for the unbroken vow

Err... I write only in my native language (Polish). Does it count?

Polish counts
my account
is no doubt
chicken out
finger gout
drinking stout
messing about
twist and shout

Such a poem's aforehand demolished
if Polish doesn't sound polished
I tell you straight from the heart:
That language
and English
are poles apart.

The rage of an acorn
On the stepladder of man
Does it squeeze the fruit of sad paint cans?
I know not; nor do I care
A doorway to frog school opens everywhere
The pupils dripping wet with memory
And the feet on their way to another way
Their profile in the moonlight can't erase those fears
And the test of their will postponed
They wait in the darkness
With nothing to read
At all.
