Can't believe it!!! Just had a heart attack over my laptop dying... got blue screen of death and lost my assignment for Adult Ed! I finished it yesterday after working solidly on it all week and it was just gone. Reloaded laptop several times and just got a pretty blue screen. Anyway began to work on assignment again on another computer from scratch and just let the other laptop run - I wrote out about 2 pages of waffle and my heart was just not in it as starting over again really is the pits. It was like doing an exam and just waffling on without any real interest. My assignment had been done and I was so happy with it and now I was back working on a new one... it is the worst feeling. Anyway suddenly after about 20 minutes, the other laptop made a cheerful beep and blue screen became grey, then it began running some weird dos program. Then screen went black, then showed my desktop photo but no icons yet. My heart began pounding... then the icons appeared one by one! Caroline held my hand in anticipation, then screen beeped and my assignment was retrieved in tact!!!! Could have knocked me over with a feather. I raced to put assignment on my USB and when it was loaded on that Caroline and I both shouted WOOHOO!!! in unison - then I raced to Printer and printed it out. Man, sometimes we take things for granted. BACK UP ALL YOUR WORK NOW!!!! I just spent an hour backing up everything on an external HardDrive. It feels good REAL good! 11 page assignment could have been history when the computer crashed. Now its back I dont even want to look at it right now. Its like a dream. It was literally toast. The laptop refused to reboot and mocked me with that dreadful blue screen... If it crashes now nothing will be lost. -------------
