That's all what I find on the web about the band. I don't know Ukraine nor Russian language, so I'm not able to check their sites. I'm really sorry, Dean. Well, what to do.... I hope that somebody else will make a better suggestion of Gravitsapa than I already did. p.s. there are several more Gravisapa's live recorded videos at Youtube, though. |

^ This just one of the many points I have been trying to make - if these bands have such a tiny web-presence then they are not the kind band we are looking for, if the only web-footprint they have was created by themselves then we should not be forced to spend any time on them, if no other progressive rock archive, review site or forum mentions them then we do not need to be the first, if their following on the social networks is non-existant (or less than 100ish people) then they are the modern equivalent of "unsigned" and nothing to do with us.
Sorry to be so blunt, but that is how it is. If you cannot find any information on them, then we will not be able to either - we have no special researching skills, we have to spend our free time searching the internet for information that isn't there.
The situation now is a small amatuer band who plays to 20 people in a village hall in the back of beyond (just outside Basingstoke) can be on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, and have a YouTube channel and Facebook, MySpace and LastFM pages - and you find them and suggest them here and we reject them, after we've spent time giving them the same evaluation as we would give a professional, signed band that has a following of 1000s of fans. The difference between those two bands is not in Bandcamp, or YouTube or Facebook - it is in the rest of the internet - it is the fan pages and the unsolicited reviews of their work, it is in the gig-guides and album releases. The other band will have a web-presence that they did not create themselves, the local village band with only 20 fans will not.
You cannot find any information on Gravitsapa because they have a tiny web presence, they do not have any web-content they did not create themselves, and that is as good as saying they are "unsigned" as far as the PA is concerned. ------------- What? |

Here it is: -genre: math rock, avant-prog, experimental rock -bio: Gravitsapa is a Ukrainian band formed in 2005. The band recorded two mini-albums: Radio Free Albemuth in 2009, which was released in 2013 by HYSM? label under the name Free Radio Taxipod, and Vulgata also released by labels HYSM? and Skrot Up in 2013.Gravitsapa is a Ukrainian band formed in 2005. Alrighty. Honestly while i hear some Math influences, like Sasha mentioned to call this band "just" MR isn't doing them justice.
Unless there is someone that strongly disagrees, i say Eclectic is a better fit. Them labeling themselves as a mix of Math-rock, avant, and experimental rock is pretty damn accurate. Just my opinion. Other thoughts or listeners? ------------- Crushed like a rose in the riverflow. |

Arguing about where bands fit is not helpful and only adds to the time taken to evaluate them. We do not seek the exact fit but a best fit - if a band is worthy of addition and can fit in one of two, three or four subgenres then it does not matter which one they go in - let the reviews speak for the music, that is why we are here after all - reviewing albums not piddling about pigeon-holing bands into musicological subcategories.

Sorry for the delay, i was listening some more just in case. I think they are fit to have a home in Math. In this case it's just not straight-ahead MR, it has it's flavors of other things but i think MR can be seen as the defining genre. So i'll give the thumbs up for addition to MR.
