Just curious as to what the final verdict has been on these two innovative equipment lines from the mid-80s has been. I have several Carver components (an 800-watt amp, pre-amp, and a tuner) which still work amazingly well (except for the fact that I was always blowing out my Polk Audio speakers in the 80s & 90s). The imaging choices of the amp/pre-amp always blows me away, but I don't know what opinions "audiophiles" have of them.

Also, I was always impressed and intrigued by the Magnepan Magneplanar ribbon speakers--though I was never quite willing to shell out the bucks to own a pair. In this era of sub-woofers and surround systems I wondered what the general and professional opinions are of them.

Wow. 800 watts? Sounds good. Is that for your subwoofer alone?

Also. Sorry. I don't know much about Carver speakers. Im a Bose man.
