I know some of you seem to forget there's a difference, so let me clarify.

Thrash:  A subgenre of metal incorporating fast drumming and aggressive guitar work.

Trash:  Something you dispose of.

If you're referring to certain bands as "trash" metal on mistake, remember the correct word.  If you're doing it on purpose and you think you're funny, you're wrong.  Thrash is as valid as any other metal genre, and is often characterized by virtuousic rhythm playing and blistering guitar solos.  If you don't like it, get over it, stop being a jerkoff about it, we get it, you don't like metal.

I was skimming through the threads that came in since yesterday evening, and I think I spotted it once or twice.  Thinking about it, I see that usage of it just about every day around here.

I know people wouldn't like it if I started talking about Krockrock, or Rock In Abhorration.

Why was this thread moved?  It's not a thread to discuss thrash music, it's to increase people's awareness of it on the Prog Music Lounge.

Thanks for creating a thread about that issue, it always bothers me when I see people talking about T(h)rash Metal. I explained the difference last month in another thread, but I guess this is something we all have to live with, just like threads about Dream Theatre.

Never noticed that either, though I listened that kind of muzak as a kid! I may still sometimes refresh my memories with SEPULTURA's "Arise" composition.
