.. ..THE STORY SO FAR.. .... "Since the band's inception in 2002 Pete Morten has been successfully developing 'My Soliloquy’s' unique brand of progressive metal. In a genre too often defined by bands using the same "Prog Metal" template, My Soliloquy offer an original and somewhat quirky take on tried and tested formulas. .... From their humble beginnings [The creative Principle] to their latest stunning release, full-length E.P. Esoterica, 'My Soliloquy' have had many successes in their relatively underground and unsigned career. Most notable are shows with Pagens Mind, Power Quest, Oliver Wakeman, and Threshold. Plus a second-to-headline set at Bloodstock 05 featuring Within Temptation and a warm-up showcase for 2007’s ProgPower UK II all add to an impressive C.V. for My Soliloquy thus far. .... The band even had the honour of appearing in one of Robert Rankin’s novels ‘The Witches of Chiswick’ (Internationally renowned Comedy/Fantasy Author) who placed the band in a fictional venue where The Beatles had originally honed their talents before finding fame and fortune. .... Added to this, are a film soundtrack appearance for English independent film Retribution and countless radio airplay and interviews worldwide. .... Pete Morten in particular is proving to be quite a prolific artist in his own right. In 2007 he joined Prog Metal giants Threshold for their world tour and is now a full-time member. He is also the lead singer for Nightmare World and Metalloid.
He has recorded extensive backing vocals on both Clive Nolans ‘Caarmora - She’ album and Never Born’ new album. He will also be recognised for his brief appearance with Power Quest .... Having survived personal problems and line-up changes Pete Morten’s My Soliloquy can now look forward to a bright future with the release of their forthcoming debut album ‘The Interpreter’ in 2012 on Sensory Records [Laser Group] in America and Europe."
