No brainer. peter Hammill by a country mile. The guy's a polymath; speaks loads of languages, knows loads of long words, given the resources of the World's only super power premiership I'm sure he could sort of the problems in the World. (oops am I sounding like an Energy Vampire now)
George W. Bush could then return to his prog roots, and perhaps pen an epic along the lines of 'Every Bloody Emperor'.
BTW i'd have lemmy as Hammill's vice president.

Ian Anderson easily. He's a very levelheaded guy compared to some of the nuts on this list. He's shown he can manage a successful business outside music, his fish farms. I also think Derek Shulman would be good, or Phil Collins. (Daevid Allen are you kidding?, Ozzy, Fish?????)

George W. Bush could meanwhile form a prog band named "The Petrol Trust" and record "We're Only In It for the Oil". Track Suggestions:
1. Hidin' in the Mountains (The Usama Blues) 2. Nuke 'Em Good 3. Mere Coincidence (Oh, there Is Petrol in Iraq?) 4. Let's Count 'Em Again (aka the Ballad of the Ballot) 5. Lies? What Lies? 6. Dec 22nd 2000 aka "If this Were a Dictatorship, It'd Be a Heck of a Lot Easier, just so Long as I'm the Dictator."

The people you've been talking about are English, they couldnt be
President of USA just beacause of that. Zappa would be perfect for the
job, but he is dead, so I guess George W would be the dude...

I agree, Ian Anderson is a good businessman, and he is moderate. Zappa would only further tear the country apart because he is far too left-wing, and the rest would not know what to do (epecially that George Bush guy ), except maybe Peter Hammill, so he comes a distant second IMO.

If we were going to have a rock and roll president, I think the logical choice would be Iggy Pop, with Lemmy as Prime Minister of the UK.
From the choices you gave, Ian Anderson would be my favourite - I don't always agree with his views but I think he's got his priorities in order, particularly regarding the environment.

If Daevid Allan would be president everything would go to anarchy and he would give drugs to all the children.
I could see Robert Fripp turning into a fascist dictator i dont know why i could just picture it

Bush only Bush.
Where`s Petrucci?
Only USA citizens are able to candidate for US president so Gildenlow is out, but he would be a great politican - nobody understands his concepts but everyone agree he`s a genius.

Hilarious!
I would like the president of United States to show some respect for the nature and the environment; mainly regarding the greenhouse effect and the illegal cutting of forests all around the world. The guy should also be strong with the economy issues and not be a bloody right-winger. The international relations should also be taken care of properly - no wars with them involved for gods sake!
So .. ahem.. how about Varg Vikernes? Just kiddin'.. I really don't know what proggers' views are on politics so I really can't answer this question. Ian Anderson looks like a hippie tho..
