I was pretty pleased to discover this intersting new band was local, and i was at the show last night in Cambridge.

They played the Volume One album track, and that was it.  I was hoping to hear new or additional material as well, but that was it.  Not that is wasn't fantastic.

They played with huge energy, plasting out the complicated snarls of notes with ease, all the while jumping twirling and generally putting on a show.  I had expected more of a shoegaze, concentrate on the playing thing, but they didnt miss a thing despite the frantic, almost spastic energy.

At first, seeing only bass, guitar and drums on stage, i feared for the horn piece of the composition, but a trumpeter arrived on stage from the audience on time, and delivered a sublime performance, with wonderful tone.  While mentioning tone, the p-bass through ampeg did not disappoint, snarling, searing tone, with lots of bottom end and warmth.

If you have not heard this record, you should.  If you live anywhere near Boston, make the effort to see this combo.

cool! Haven't been to the Middle East in a while. What's the scene like there now? last time I went, it was mostly emo... this sounds like a nice change.
