I wonder if ordering the deluxe book edition is the only way to get the EP, or if there is a "lesser" version that has the EP as well.

 Good question. Although I like Amplifier, I am not connected with the band. That being said, I couldn't find another version, of what you are looking for.  I ordered the new Riverside special double disc today, Steven Wilson's new delux, along with Amplifier's delux book edition from "Burning Shed" this morning. I spent over 100 dollars on 3 albums. Ouch!

I just listened to Matmos on YouTube and liked it quite a bit. If the rest of the album has a similar vibe, then this is another strong 2013 release. Gotta get the album first, though.
