Lydia Lunch RIO ? no wave is not prog, isn't it ? I didn't see any lounge lizards, Mars, DNA or James Chance & the Contortions in PA's database ?

And in the list, only 3 bands are in RIO subgenre of PA.

-> must be that many truly RIO bands denied the offer or the venue is a place difficult to access ?

Maybe.
Many RIO bands comes from the US, it's too long way and expensive to bring them.
In past festivals, there where maximum 1-2 US bands.
I see that the tendency in recent festivals is to bring many 'close' bands, mainly from France and Belgium.

Alain from Soleil Zeuhl is thinking of putting on a one day SZ festival in the week before RIO, it would take place in Paris. Propoesed line-up :- UNIT WAIL / SETNA / NEOM / SCHERZOO / ONE SHOT

That that would be a week of heaven.

The venue for the Soleil Zeuhl event in Paris on the Wednesday before RIO is now booked (LES INSTANTS CHAVIRES) and they have a facebook page up.

Proposed line up is UNIT WAIL / SETNA / NEOM / SCHERZOO / ONE SHOT

I'll probably fly into Paris for SZ and then drive down to Toulouse for RIO.

I can't go this year, for money - and - family reasons. but I've done this effort before (2010) and it was worth it big time.
